Must win ended last week for the Chargers when they lost to the Bengals at home. One may conjecture that the Chargers thusly mail in the rest of the season.

Really? Come on they couldn't have done this the week of the Ravens game? SMH that's all this team needs a bunch of underachievers coming in with a win one for Norv attitude!

One of my best buddies has been a Chargers fan since we were 13 years old and he says Turner and Smith are both gone. I believe him. He knows the Bolts like we know our guys. A.J. Smith should've been gone YEARS ago. Can you imagine if Colbert ran the Steelers the way this reject runs the Chargers?! We'd all be jumping from the highest point we could find. My buddy despises him the way a lot of us did BA. We are a really blessed fan base to have the staff that we do. I'm SOOOOO glad that we don't have a Jerry Jones or A.J. Smith to worry about. As a matter of fact at this moment I would like to publicly declare my love for the Rooney's. I LOVE YOU MR. ROONEY!!!

Turner never should have been hired in the first place but, that's the Choker way! 12 different head coaches since the merge in '70. Now, Turner has killed 3 franchises as a head coach. Some guys are meant to be really good coordinators. Turner, Wade Phillips, Kevin Gilbride.................Such is football here in sunny San Diego, out of town owners, a weak fan base, and a population made up, mostly, by people who are originally from somewhere else.

Who says that the Chargers want him to stay? Maybe they'll have the "Let's lose to get rid of this guy" attitude.

Just need to get a 7+ point lead and all of that will go down the drain fast!

You haven't been reading the media then. Most of them came out in support of him last year and they are coming out again in his support this year.

While it may be likely to happen, this "report" is speculative. This is from the article linked in the first post:

Am I missing something? Why would they want him to stay? Admittedly Im not a big Chargers follower, but seems to me, they have done nothing since he took over.

Well not exactly "nothing". They've went to the AFC Championship game. They've knocked off the Colts in the playoffs. They lost to us in 08. They've had a 13-3 season with him as well. Even we've never had a 13-3 season under Tomlin. But that being said I don't think Norv is as good of a coach as Tomlin and also I think he deserves to be fired. But it was really A.J. Smith that put him in this position and he's a total reject and hopefully he never sniffs another job in the NFL.

Norval is 111-121-1 as a head coach. He's exactly average in the playoffs at 4-4. AFCCG? Even Bobby Ross went to one of those. And won, does that make him a great coach? Even a good coach?
Norv is a great coordinator, nothing more.

I'd say less-than-average at best, given those numbers. Heck, even Chucky won a Super Bowl, and I don't see anyone knocking down his door to have him coach their team.

Ask a Charger fan, (if you can find one.) Chuckie's name comes up a lot around here. In this morning's paper, for instance. So does Cowher's.

I can tell you this. In Knoxville there are people DEVASTATED that Gruden didn't come here to coach the Vols.

NO! LOL! Today this guy who's a die hard fan was saying that he's ready to turn all his UT shirts inside out when he wears them. They learned nothing from the Kiffin debacle. They want the big name guy to be like Alabama. I said "well in 3 years you'll be calling for Norv Turner." I get a kick out of aggravating the Vol fans so I kinda hope that turns out to be true. LOL.

Anytime you take over a 14-2 team and run them into the ground you should be fired.

A.J. Smith FIRED the guy that went 14-2 and they are just NOW getting rid of him! He also released LT, Merriman, and Vincent Jackson. Also chose not to pay Darren Sproles, Cromartie, and Vincent Jackson. My buddy despises that guy so bad it's ridiculous. Anyone that would cut LT for Ryan Matthews is obviously an idiot. Also to let such a threat as Darren Sproles go is also pretty stupid. Mike Tolbert gave them some physicality but obviously they just wanna air it out and not pound the football. I've not been a fan of Norv either. Getting rid of Marty in a knee jerk reaction because the GM wanted to is just ridiculous. Can you imagine if Colbert said to the Rooney's "well Tomlin just went 14-2 so I say he's history!?" We'd be calling for a head I'm sure.

I don't read it that way scotty...

“I think we want to win for him every week. We really do,” Rivers said. “You play for a lot of things, some more obvious than others, but we play for our coach.”

Teams with there back to the wall are dangerous. (I'm sure Pittsburgh has that memorized) they just need to play smart football.. we have all the tools!
