You might be right. I remember thinking the same about Mason who seemed so flimsy in comparison to Ben but then again most qbs do when compared to Ben. Mason got his bell rung against the ravens and wasn't the same after that. Even thought it was a good idea to try and fight Garrett later that season which wasn't smart.

What passes for a concussion these days is much different.
It is a well-known fact that they err waaaay on the safe side, for good reason.
I don't discredit them for pulling him.

    Kenny is tough as nails.
To haters dismay, that isn't going to be an out.

This was probably one of the worst QB outings I have seen in some time. I never want to see Mitch Trubisky on the field ever again in a Steeler uniform.

I should not be surprised that people aren’t aware that a concussion is a brain injury yet here we are.

Definitely not a Kenny hater, I’ve been a huge supporter and will continue to be, but I am having some concerns about his durability. Agree about Mitch. It’s easy to see why he drove Chicago fans bonkers! One step forward, two steps back.

Mitch put on the worst QB'g display I've seen in some time.
It was so disgusting that I left end of the 3rd. Timmy Tebow is a better option.
Problem is, I don't know if Mason would play? But there is no reason to dress Mitch for the remainder of the season, none.

I don’t know that anyone is arguing that? Being in the concussion protocol means you are showing symptoms of a concussion. Doesn’t necessarily mean you have one.

Calling it a concussion really downplays the severity.

MT also said during the post-game thsr Pickett became symptomatic after clearing the initial concussion protocol.

Hey kids i'm sure you know what a knock out is in boxing right? A concussion. These fighters are built and train and are in top shape. Their is no building up muscle to stop the brain from moving. Or anything else.

Pickett has had a concussion this season. This is number two. The way he was thrown down with Smiths hand attached to his face mask and smashed his head into the ground was quite violent.

Just hope he has no lingering effects. If he can't go next week I don't care who they start. Maybe Gentry.

    Team is going nowhere.

I agree. I would hold Pickett out for two concussions happening so close. He wasn’t knocked out like Mason a few seasons ago, but I’d hate to see his confidence shaken due to the effects of the concussion. That being said, I still think Mason is the better option if Pickett can’t go. Play him, there is a reason he wasn’t traded. We will have to either extend Mason or pick a veteran up in the offseason. Trubisky isn’t the answer and we are not getting anything for Trubisky in a trade anyway.

It isn't as if he was hit again. It was the same injury. Clearly, they blew the diagnosis on the initial exam, which is a real problem.

The idea that he is somehow fragile and is just silly. He was thrown to the ground in a way that left him vulnerable. And yes, it should have been a penalty. Not only did Smith throw him down, he had a grasp of the facemask.

It's possible they missed the initial diagnosis but it's also possible that his symptoms just didn't show until later. Maybe once the adrenaline of the play wore off?

Everyone is fragile when it comes to head injuries.

Maybe he doesn’t have a concussion? I’m sure we’ll know more on Monday.

It's possible, but he wasn't hit again. They cleared a player who shouldn't have been cleared. That is inarguable.

That’s not necessarily true. It could be like the OP said. Symptoms weren’t present initially is a possibility.

That is a failure in the process. They magically appeared 10 minutes later? Please, just stop. We will never hear otherwise because the NFL doesn't push the issue, but the medical people that examined him failed to protect Pickett today.

I was accused of playing internet doctor. It’s not playing doctor, its being knowledgeable of what concussions are.

As far as him having one, its being reported all over that he does. Pretty safe bet it you have symptoms you have a concussion.

That pathetic group turnstile that we call an offensive line would cause anyone’s confidence to be shaken.

Look how bad Tua was after concussions in back to back weeks, he was able to return and play, they should sit Pickett for the next game even if he's cleared IMO.

I think your assuming that he would need to be hit again in order for symptoms to come up and I don't know if that is necessarily true.

EDIT: I need to read the rules for clearing and not clearing players because I'm guessing they don't allow for much nuance, which was the issue in Tua’s case.

That’s just news sources speculating that because he’s in Concussion protocol that he automatically has a concussion.
