    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ays-he-could-have-handled-calf-injury-better/

Troy implies in this article that he may have been rushed back from his first calf injury, then says the second calf muscle injury was a different muscle than the first. I just thought this was somewhat odd since the perception has always been that Troy is coddled by the coaching staff. Now they pushed him too hard causing him to miss 7 weeks??

If maybe Troy would have adopted a serious conditioning program instead of yoga and 20 lb. wieghts he may not have been so fragile to begin with.

I don't think the Steelers rushed him back. Any player who feels they're physically able to play is going to do all they can to show they can be on the field.

And HA! I saw SBD in the comments. My world feels small. :D

I didnt really get the sense that Troy thought the team rushed him back from that article.

I would be surprised if they rushed him back because we had all thought that Will Allen was playing pretty good. But I'm sure they wanted him on the field. I mean they're paying him a pretty penny ya know and I'm sure they don't like to pay him to sit there. If they are that generous though I will send them my address and quit my job if you know what I mean.

I've said that for years! He should've been doing offseason workouts with Ike....hard to believe he's been in the league 10 years and hasn't missed a game until this coming weekend

AGREE 10000% Even Ike has tried to talk Troy into it!!
I know it sounds stupid but, i though maybe if we all signed a petition asking Troy to give it 1 try....I would bet he would have one of his best seasons

I don't read it that way, either. I see it as Troy telling the team "I'm ready" and the team has no reason to believe he isn't, so they let him play. I think it's more that he wishes he had not told the team he was ready to return, and they in turn wouldn't have let him.

Even if there was pressure from everyone for him to get on the field, ultimately it's his decision.

Uh, 'scuse me?? If he AND THE STEELERS had handled the injury differently. Don't you think a reasonable person could infer from this that some blame was being passed on to the Steelers?:hmmm:

Yeah, I listened to the interview, and I didn't get the impression that he was implying that he was rushed back at all. And the fact that he stated that the second injury was to a different muscle suggests to me that he didn't correlate the two injuries.

No...the article linked you could infer that some of the blame was being passed on...as well as some of the blame was on his shoulders.

The title to this thread on the other hand...you could not infer that anything other than Troy was blaming the organization

When you read the article and then watch the interview that TTF posted above you really get two different impressions. The article implies that Troy was passing along some of the blame for the significance of his injury, but when you watch the interview it's not as obvious. He does seem to imply that he AND THE TEAM handled his injury the wrong way so the title of the thread may be somewhat sensationalistic, but not altogether inaccurate. He doesn't totally exonerate the team.

For no more than he did on the field sunday, they may as well have left him on the bench, it wouldnt surprise me if he isnt in the probowl again this year for doing nothing, and dont blame the team for your stupidity in rehabing your injuries, maybe a little cooperation on your part wont cause you to miss most of the season again....
