Maybe its me and my reading comprehension sucks, but Im not seeing where this is RGs idea or where he is preposing such a change. From what TTF posted, I see that he merely discussed someone elses idea with the head of the competition committee.

If American Indians are OK with it than so am I. You got to ask yourself, who is this offending exactly? White guilt?

First off who the hell does Greg Schiano think he is. Last time I check this puck had his team play until the whistle on a victory formation play. No respect.

Secondly, Goodell is just a puppet. Got to be hard to sit down with someone's hand up your *** all the time. Haha.

Back on point though, I'm okay with make it take it. But why 4 and 15 at the 30? It kind of screws a team down by a score in closing seconds. When you recover an onside kick it's 1st and 10 from where ever. 4th and 15 if you fail to convert the other team is in FG range already.

So, maybe 4th and 10 from the 35? I'm pretty sure the Steelers have given up more Kickoffs than they have had go their way these last 10 or so years. Of course, that could all change. Seems they ought to just move the kick off another 5 yards up. Then, most of the kickoffs will certainly be kicked out of the endzone. Plus, with another 5 or 10 yards, teams may be more willing to go onsides. Less for them to score, and more for the other team should they fail to recover the kick.

I can understand the offense part, I don't necessarily agree with it but I can understand it. I was more incredulous that you felt it was a major issue that Goodell should spend his time on it :lolol:

Not flaming you man, just lighthearted fun ;)

Why not just "peewee" like we do in billiards to see who breaks - each team's kicker gets to kick the ball off a tee from say the 30 yard line against a raised temporary screen at the back of the end zone line and the bounce back distance onto the field (if any) determines who gets the ball first and at what yard marker. No busted kneecaps, no torn ACLs, no wedges, no concussions. I could see some unique strategy in this approach although a soccer ball would work much better. A coin flip determines who calls the order of the revised kickoffs. If neither ball makes it out of the end zone - just start at the 20 like now. Liven it up with a pinball set of bonuses - get it in a 3' circle at the 35 at the left hash mark and you get a bonus 40 yrds of kickoff return credit. Have another for a 100 yarder TD return. The virtual kickoff return!

I'll make sure to bring it up at the next set of owners' meetings.

I agree with you that Goodell is nothing but a moron catering to other Fantasy Football morons. Most of the morons I know are more interested in Fantasy than reality. I know a moron who thinks that if Belcher wouldn't have played where they hit so hard that he wouldn't have done what he done. Fantasy is geared towards offense and most of the people that I know that are really in to it ONLY know offensive players. I despise this culture of football stupidity. If people wanna play fantasy that is fine but when it starts to invade reality I have a MAJOR problem with it! I got REAAAALLLY close to screaming at Goodell in person. He was in Cincy for the Monday Night Football game in '10 and I saw that he was being interviewed by Mike Wilbon and me and my dad LITERALLY ran to the other side of the stadium to get to where he was so I could scream my brains out and tell him how much I hate EVERYTHING he stands for. Turns out he had recorded the interview ahead of time. That's how much of a coward he is that he won't even face the Steelers fans. He knows that we know what true football is all about and he also know that we know that he wants to destroy it and tailor it to people that are more interested in stupid fake football than in reality. The Steel Curtain, Purple People Eaters, Doomsday D, No Name D, and the Orange Crush would have NEVER existed under his stupid dictatorship! If the league keeps putting him back in as comish we are not gonna have a game to watch. I honestly believe with everything I have that he seriously does despise EVERYTHING that Steeler football stands for. He's a pansy and the people who like him are stupid fratboy pansies as well. Name me one hardcore football fan that likes that retard.

Just step away from the commisioner title, Mr. Goodell...
You OBVIOUSLY do not have he GAME`S best interests at heart...
    Owner`s wallets? Yeah...

Thank You ....To add it is just like the protect the QB Crap the refs have rules in place that state they can throw a flag anytime you touch a QB if they want to...Can't hit low, can't hit anywhere near the head, and you can't hit him hard if the ball is not in his hands....

Then look at the WR rules...Simple enough don't touch them and if you do 5 yards and Auto 1st. down or spot of the foul 30,40,50,60,70,80.90 or 99 yards wherever the foul occurs while the ball is in the air....Yeah,Yeah I know the ball has to be catchable ,but that is soon to go away I am sure and then just run track throw it anywhere and if the DB even Breathes on the WR a spot of the foul is coming...

They need to go HS rules....No after 5 yard contact BS,,,and only 15 yards on any pass interference...F that Fantasy crap let the Defense have a chance to play to........

If they really want to do this up right they should remove the defense from the game completely. The idea would be to see how fast you can score. I think I'm on to something here. During your series you would have to throw once and run once. Fantasy stats would be through the roof. If this catches on I want this on record as being my idea!!!

Meh, I like my idea of just determining the winner from the coin flip. That way nobody gets hurt. You could have the fans tailgate for 5 hrs before the game and take their seats. Play the National Anthem, have the military fly overs, run 400 commercials, have everyone Text their picks, Blog their opinions, Tweet their friends, Facebook the foes, Skype the stars and then have the ever dramatic coin flip. There is about a 1 in billion chance they could screw it up unless Bettis is involved. After that you would have the option of remaining in your seats to watch 2 hrs of highlights the way the game used to be played. It of coarse would come with a Parental Guidance Warning.

Yeah I think if they removed the D totally the Browns would be able to score within five plays. So my guess is they would be for this also.

Oh the qb crap REEEEEALLLLLLLY makes me mad! That's not even something that's new to Goodell as even Jack Lambert said "maybe we oughtta let 'em wear skirts". But under Goodell they have went WAAAAAAY overboard in this crap! In the 06 AFC Championship game right at the end there was a play where the Pats got pressure on Manning and was engaged with the offensive linemen. His hand came off a block and touched Peyton's helmet INCIDENTALLY and VERRRRY GINGERLY. The ref throws a flag for "blow to the head". It's like Joey Porter said. They cheat for the big offensive guys and ESPECIALLY that one. Since Brady got hurt in 08 they modified the rules even MORE to make the qb untacklable. Since Peyton complained about the sudden death overtime rules they changed to this ridiculous thing of letting both teams touch the ball instead of requiring defenses to just, ya know, play DEFENSE! It's funny how Goodell tries to frame things as "safety" but then wants to make teams play longer in to overtime and add TWO more regular season games when guys can't even get through the schedule we already HAVE!! I think under the Goodell model there's gonna be a LOT of guys get in to the Hall of Fame that would've never sniffed in the Tagliabue or Rosell days when receivers could be contacted and qb's could be tackled. I mean what guy COULDN'T stand back there and make throws when they know they are basically granted immunity from contact?

LOL! Every time I hear someone talk about getting hit in the eye it ALWAYS reminds me of A Christmas Story. "You'll shoot your eye out kid!" LOLOLOLOLOL! I could hear Goodell telling this to the rules committee when they proposed such a things. "You'll knock somebody's eye out kid!"

We just watched Christmas Story about a week ago. We have a tradition to watch it each year after we put our tree up. I saw it in the theater as a kid, and still love it to this day. If you're ever near Cleveland (which is about 3 1/2 hours from where I live), be sure to drink your ovaltine visit the house it was filmed in. Pretty fun little tour.

You'd get an argument though from Billicheat - he's been doing this for years and is quite successful at this strategy.
