I pray that everyone is kind with their responses lol. With that being said, would anyone want to bring in Tebow next year as a back up/change of pace quarterback? I would like to have him on the team assuming there would be a vacancy next year (Charlie retires or Byron is let go). Tebow definitely has the character that the Rooneys seek in a player. I realize that there may be a circus by bringing him in and that a lot of people don't think he's that good but I think he would be good in the right set of circumstances. I think the Steelers offer that set of circumstances. Thoughts? And remember, don't crucify me! :smiley1:

Even as a Noles fan I'm not going to crucify you, lol. I actually like Tebow and wouldn't mind seeing what he could do as a Steeler. People give him a hard time and I don't know why. He's a great guy and as much as we'd like to forget it he beat us in the playoffs. I think someone needs to prove once and for all if he's got what it takes to make it in the NFL. I think the Broncos gave him a bad deal. He could have sat behind Peyton and learned for a couple years and be his eventual replacement and used in certain situations but even though I also like Peyton his ego wouldn't share the spotlight.

If I was a team light on RB/FB/TE I wouldn't hesitate to bring him in, but Steelers aren't really that kind of team.

I think Jets dropped the ball though...they should have used him more with gadget plays as a triple threat to run, throw, or pass...

I actually like the guy because of his tremendous character. I would really like to see him make it with a team and do well just to shut up all of his critics. Hopefully he will get that opportunity next season.

i have nothing vs the man , just don't like qb that think to run before pass , but maybe as a third qb option could be serviceable

Tebows role in New York is nothing short of a joke he has no role to speak of.. maybe a team (Ravens) could pick him up as a team Chaplin.

    I agree, but I'd rather have Charlie Batch...even at 38yo next year...as a 3rd stringer.

I have heard that an important consideration, although often ignored, is that your backup QB should play kind of the same style as your starter, so a switch isn't so confusing and chaotic to the overall game plan and strategy. Would Tebow fit well into a Haley/Big Ben offensive scheme? I doubt it.

Here is the reality....Tebow is NOT a QB in this league. The sooner he comes to that realization, the longer and more productive his career will be. He would be a good FB, but I think he could be a very good TE due to his size and understanding of an offense.

Are you kidding me? He is nothing more than a huge distraction.
I hope Santa skips your house this year for posting this!

I'd be okay if they brought him in to get Ben some water in between offensive series.

Withholding any comments about his "football" talents and whether on not he would be a suitable backup or gimmick player for the Steelers- the elite mindless NYC media environment had to have been the worse place for such a high-profile overt Christian player to relocate. Houston or Kansas City probably would have been a much better fit. Now if he were a high-profile agnostic (like Suggs) - they would have embraced him and perhaps even nominated him for a Nobel Peace Prize (since there appears to be no tangible criteria anymore for receiving that award).

The real answer to his future probably lies in these two words: "Oh Can-a-da!"

Tebow is a really good running back and we already have a bunch of those. We also already had a "slash", look how that turned out.

No way, this team needs a legit QB to be groomed for the future.

I'm a big believer of rhythm and flow of the game. Taking a QB out for a play or a series can and will inturrpt their flow and rhythm of the game.

What makes you think he's good enough to come in here and earn playing time? Man couldn't even beat out Sanchez on a bad Jets team.

I'd take him in a heartbeat. He has one thing and one thing only. Heart!! You can't coach that. We had a guy here like that, his name is Hines ward. Nobody thought he would impact the league either. I think that turned out pretty well. Tebow is definitely not a qb, but as a te/h back I'd welcome him with open arms.
