Had to be more to it than just the AJ Brown trade that happened in April. Why would he just now be getting fired for a dumb decision from over 7 months ago?

I'm sure there is, but the game Brown had against them might have been the closing argument in Mike Vrabel's favor

Like many folks, I didn't understand or agree with trading hum away. When the titans had AJ Brown and Julio with Henry in the backfield, they should have been epic but the injuries killed them.

Could someone tell me how the Eagles could be under the cap? I
just hope the Steelers hired from Philly can work his magic here.

Qb on a rookie contract plays a huge role

What do you mean how they can be under the cap? They just are, just like every other team.
There's no special reason they're below it

That video should put an end to the who is drafting players debate. In reality it probably shouldn’t even be a debate

I didn't understand that trade at all when it happened. You can't just lose a guy like that and not expect it to hurt your offensive ability.
They might be a competitive team in the regular season, but they're never going to be a contender with the way that team is constructed.
Not to mention Henry isn't getting any younger. If they were smart, they'd admit what they are, trade Henry and other aging pieces and retool quickly.
But like most teams, coaches and GM's are too focused on next week instead of long term success, so they'll continue to plod along until they end up in a full rebuild and everyone gets fired. Only a matter of time.

Well, it does vary from team to team.
Some coaches have much more power than others.

It is still the gm’s job to assemble the team.

How do they afford all the FA's they have brought in?

Like someone else said, having a QB on a rookie contract helps.
The numbers obviously add up or they wouldn't have been able to bring them in.

You'd think the GM and HC would be in synch, but in this case, it looks like Vrabel had no clue until it happened.

Exactly what I was thinking. I think the Head coach just wants more power.

I agree with that, but only up to a point. It's a great concept, but I believe it puts way too much on a Coaches plate. Look at Belichick....Great coach, but IMO a terrible GM.
I wouldn't want our coach, or any of our future coaches with that power. JMO

I agree wholeheartedly. However, I wouldn’t call BB a terrible gm. Maybe a little unorthodox, but he gets the players he wants and more often than not gets them to buy in. Look at his first round draft pick last year. Everyone said he reached yada yada yada. Well it appears to have worked out for the patriots as that guy is a solid left guard

AJ Brown's cap hit doesn't kick in until later, because it was extension.. $5M this year. $40M in 2026.

Reddick's contract is same $4M this year, $20M in 2024. They have a decent mix of young guys and some older on lower contracts, like Kelce and Cox. Andre Chachere, CB was less than $1M

thanks for the info, wasn't the CB Bradbury sought by Steelers signed by Philly. I don't keep
up on other teams, I have a hard enough time with Steelers. LOL.

They are paying him up to $9.5 million but this years cap hit is less than $2.3M. The rest is spread out over next 4 years
