I just watched mic'ed up from the Falcons game on YouTube. What a great glimpse into the internal life, passion, belief, and commaraderie of this team. The play on the field is improving. The relaxed nature of Kenny P in all last weeks footage. His interview in the pre-Ravens press conference. The Heyward brothers. Minkah the ball hawk. Pat F...dude! Yep, I am starting to believe.

Too big of a hole dug and a huge mountain to climb. I hope they win out and make it interesting though.

I'm thinking more in the long term. Although a win this week and we will show up on the "in the hunt" graphic.

I dont want us to be in the hunt, that simply means that we will be one and done and picking way lower than we actually should. Sometimes a down year at the right time is a blessing.

If Steelers keep winning what will it show. We beat avg to above avg teams. But if we win and magically get to playoffs. Ill be a believer when we beat elite teams. KC. BUFFALO.CIN.then id believe but anything can happen. Hope for the best EXPECT the worst. Then u wont be too disappointed.

I’m driving 6 hours for this game so, I’m praying for a blow out this week and lots of celebrating and raven tears.

The rest of the season I'm on the fence about.

Is quitting what you are suggesting?

It's already been established that the Steelers are in a down year or transitional year or two.

One way for a team to build confidence from one game to the next or one year to the next is to continue with the process of winning.

Imagine if players quit because of a down year. How would an organization know which areas to address seriously? Organizations can't always address all their needs or wants in the offseason.

Players and coaches get paid to win. Winning feels better than losing. I can go through a number of reasons why a team and players shouldn't quit.

Pickett's going to be around for a while so get used to it. I was looking at Caleb Williams if he was available when we pick as a possibility if KP didn't work out but lately that dude seems like a spoiled entitled arrogant prick. Let some other team deal with those egomaniacs.

Yeah, really. Beating bad teams to make the playoffs only to get your butt kicked in the first round is not progress and not something we should ever want!

I am not suggesting that they quit, I am merely stating that as a fan watching your team be constantly mediocre is not progress! Sometimes a bad season is what's needed to take a mediocre team to an elite team or champion!

Beating any NFL team is a good thing. Where do people come up with this crap?

Did 'Mic'd up follow DJ and Pickens around as well? I firmly believe that the media will show whatever THEY want you to see or hear. I am with you on starting to believe but I was already on board without having seen this. Media gets paid to get attention and push whatever they are instructed to push. I convince myself from what I see and it only costs me a few cold one's. What a bargain. JMO>

It’s really not a crazy comment to want a higher more quality draft pick. Obviously the Steelers are not going to tank or try to lose but going 8-9 or whatever and drafting 17th overall is just continuing this current trend of mediocre play with 0 playoff success.

Not taking any sides, but how will we know this will happen if we aren't there? Are you someone who will always bet on the team who's favored to win each game? JMO>

That's loser talk, if they keep winning and somehow made the playoffs, that means Pickett is progressing nicely.

Well DJ, the only reason I can think of that it would be crazy is that after wasting an entire NFL season hoping we lose and finally getting the ultimate draft pick, some think it's absolutely certain we know how to get a high #1 draft pick that will make wasting a season worth it. Can you imagine an Edmunds 2.0 as the prize? You play to win and if you can't, find coaches that can. Happens all the time, but not all the time. JMO>

How are those high draft picks working out for Detroit, and Jacksonville? They will get a good player in the first round, they got Heyward and TJ late in the first round.

Sure there are examples both ways of great high picks and busts but odds would say if you draft high enough to get the highest ranked LT for example he’s likely a stud. Steelers are not making the playoffs unless they win out so in reality with how things are going we will go like 9-8 miss the playoffs draft 20th and Tomlins streak is alive with 0 playoff success for eternity.
