I heard this yesterday while watching the Falcons game. I can't verify it as I can't seem to be able to "Google" the right combination of words to get a listing.

You would think that our defense has to love these long drives that keep them off the field.

I did find out that the Steelers are currently ranked 7th for average time of possession right now. I thought with all the 3 and outs we were seeing at the beginning of the year it would have been a lot worse.

You haven’t noticed how much terrible football is being played this year?

Both. It can be simultaneously good and bad. It’s good that we can sustain drives, keep moving the chains, and moving the ball upfield. This is a newer phenomenon, as we didn’t have much of this through the first 6-8 weeks. Mostly the last 4. However, it does show the lack of splash plays. Needing to sustain long drives to score puts a large onus on the offense and means it won’t be a large point producer. It’s a good starting point for KP to be able to sustain longer drives… now we need to get it in the end zone more often and hit some big plays.

D is tired. We somehow have held both this stat for most long drives and the stat for most 3 and outs this season.

No I've noticed. I believe I've mentioned this a few times every week, and a few different ways. Especially Qb play is what I've mentioned.

It’s been atrocious. Outside of a couple teams playing slightly above the line the product has been pretty poor overall imo

Keeping the other team's offense off the field is always a good thing. JMO>

I think it's a good thing. At some point we're going to need to trade FG's for TD's. It's a work in progress and a step in the right direction compared to the first half of the season and the bulk of the prior two seasons.

With our last win, Steelers are ranked 1st team to reach 500 wins since the NFL merger in 1970.

    Cowgirls second, 21 wins behind.

A combination of things. Players coming out early and lack of practice time being the most obvious

Because the steelers are terrible to have big play on offense.....The last game, the steelers had a play of over 50 yards for the first time in 21 games.

I voted good reason being, they are eventually going to have a game where they will score tds consistently in the redzone. You heard it here first!

The way this D seems to cave in, especially in the 2nd half, sustained drives (even w/o points or 3 points) as was seen this past Sunday late, cures (er overcomes) a lot of defects.

This is very hard to score TD when you don't have big play....You need a 10 plays drive or over with several 3rd down conversion and no errors to score a TD but Canada don't give them a margin for error.......10 plays drive is maybe good for the steelers defense but not for the offense if you want TD and this strategy will not work against good offensive team since the steelers defense is just terrible this year

Bad. No big plays means more chances of turnovers and less likely to score going the length of the field in a 2 minute drive when you need it the most.

It’s a good thing. It’s being overshadowed since it often ends in 3 points. Last year I don’t think we maintained the time consuming drives. But felt Ben lead the league in 3-point drives (I don’t know that stat as fact).
