I agree. But I don’t think this means he’s doomed to being a problem like some people have already labeled him.

If teams are playing him as the #1, those players still make the catches and rack the yardage and touchdowns. You have to get him the ball.

Good point. He’s shown frustration before though so its not all that.

He also dropped a TD last week going for the highlight reel. He has some growing up to do.

And smart. It's easy to just run it in without thinking because that's what you do 99% of the time.
From a fantasy perspective, him scoring probably gets me the win this week and a bye in the first round of the playoffs lol. Oh well

DJ has been fighting with QB's and posting/ deleting tweets all season long, so maybe its a (if he can do it so can I ) type thing .. lol

From steal of the draft to compared to AB and Moss's attitude problems. Got to be a new record. Hell it took 3 years for Claypool to go from Mapletron to glad he's gone statements. The fickle winds of fate change quickly.

I think he's clearly that guy but he doesn't get the ball enough.

Was it the injury or the character concerns that made him a second rounder? He needs to shut up and play. If he spends the game blocking he needs to do it with a Hines Ward smile on his face. He’s done NOTHING as a pro except make a highlight reel catch and drop some easy passes. He doesn’t have enough reputational capital at this point to be complaining about ANYTHING! I sure hope this doesn’t develop into a pattern.

7 teams make the playoffs, if Steelers make a run, the best WR on the team, Pickens and Pickett, need work more together together during the remaining games. Otherwise, if Steelers make the playoffs, better opponent defenses can focus on stopping the run short passing game. Unless we trust DJ will get better hands before then.

you are correct - he has the roots of a problem, he needs to be uprooted, before it is too late. another season, we will see. We have seen enough diva here, maybe Tomlin fosters it?

    The incident...

The wide receiver’s outburst came early in the fourth quarter after wide receiver Diontae Johnson dropped the ball on third down, giving it back to the Falcons. Pickens was seen on the broadcast yelling at coaches to get him the ball. "Come on, man. Throw me the f---ing ball," he was seen saying.

Who wasn't saying this also on the game thread

Oh no a wide receiver acting like a deva? Never seen that before

You can't have your best wide receiving threat getting thrown at 2 times.

Unfortunately for Pickens he thinks lobbying the QB is going to get him more looks.

Young players make mistakes and get frustrated. Nothing more or nothing less.

I don't think any player will become the next AB.

Johnson and Pickens are whiney little b!tches. They need to help their rookie QB and quit complaining.

He will be replaced if he doesn't learn. He will learn as a professional that every year other players are coming to compete for his job.

Mabey Tomlin will use his excuse " 14 is a known commodity in the NFL" is the reason we didn't use him more... Like he used it for DJ a few weeks ago
