I missed this yesterday. I knew the Browns activated Deshaun Watson, but I hadn't realized that they cut Josh Dobbs to open up the roster spot. I'm guessing he will eventually catch on somewhere as a third stringer, but can we finally admit he's not good?

If there was a Pre-Season Hall of Fame Josh Dobbs would be in it.

I bet he ends up on Browns Practice Squad

Degreed in Nuclear Engineering. Hope Kim doesn't kidnap him to improve the navigation fo those warheads.

I am obviously late to the debate but there were pro Dobbs people here to have him start?

Wonder if the Browns were competitive would a team pick him up for a couple weeks just to get intel.

My most memorable football play from Dobbs was actually watching him throw a bomb in college for a win.

I thought he also had questionable accuracy/touch in the low to mid range passes but that could have been Landry Jones maybe.

When he has exhausted all of his playing options I would not be surprised to see him in some entry level coach position on the Steelers

He was always the first guy Ben would go to for sideline information.

I thought that would be PWP. On a side note, I'd rather have Dobbs on my team than the other player whose name I will not utter. JMO>

His ability to extend plays with his running ability was seen as a better option than Mason's immobility. Many felt that his legs made him more of a multilevel threat than a pocket passer. He was Lamar Jackson with a better head on his shoulders but less true athletic ability and a weaker arm. His game tape though showed less on both accounts. The running was exactly a big thing and failure to make throws was just a focal point. Ben liked him though so he was doing something right

I see him more as going back and getting an actual job at NASA or one of the private space firms. It's an exciting time for space exploration and maybe for the first time since the Challenger explosion I find my eyes looking skyward and imagining what is possible.

He’s had one of the most unluckiest careers ever. He looked solid this preseason. Browns fans wanted to see him play. Team is terrible and they don’t even give him a chance. Now the 200 million man is back so obviously he’s getting cut.

Had nothing to do with football, Ben wanted to retrofit his crotch rocket into a XTURISMO hoverbike. :hmm:

It isn't luck. He isn't good. Three organizations have given up on the guy for a reason.

Remember, the Browns had Dobbs when they picked up Kellen Mond on waivers from the Vikings. They already saw he wasn't even good enough to stay on the roster once they got their starter back.

Dobbs probably isn't done in the NFL unless he wants to be done.

He’s shown enough to deserve a real chance. Went to the Jags who had Minshew and drafted Trevor Lawerence. Then to a team who just spent 200 million on a QB.

If He deserves a real chance....then Mason should be someone's starter.

Going way back on the old board someone posted Tee Martin was never given a chance. He lead a team to a national title, come on he's good. I have no doubt some guys fall through..but ultimately if you show anything GMs and HCs are going to see it. There's guys that pull lifetime security out of this league being a back up for 10 plus years.

How many teams have to give up on him before you realize he isn't good enough to get any more chances? I guess you think the career of Babe Laufenberg is one of the great tragedies in NFL history.
