The topic is whether or not that thread should have been locked. I offered an opinion. You offered nothing of value.

 

Staying out of the political arena, the fact is that COVID is not what it once was. It was a severe respiratory illness like SARS, but has mutated to become more like the common cold. Hence, is not the concern it once was. Now nobody cares because it's not nearly as virulent as it was before.

 

Paging the internet doctors.

I didn't start this thread, I'm just posted a reason why the NFL doesn't care anymore.

I don't have a link but why do you think the NFL and NHL aren't testing anymore? Because it doesn't represent a serious threat so nobody cares.

 

If you could remove that boil on Glenn's ass named ox1947, he would probably be appreciative.

The virulent version didn't magically go away. That's not how mutation works. The vaccines make a big difference.

 

I agree the vaccines make a difference. However that actually is how mutation works. Viruses don't want to kill their hosts, they want to multiply. Combine that with the fact that covid is an unstable single strand RNA virus, which is very prone to mutations, you end up with a much less virulent version in the end.

That doesn’t mean the more dangerous variant is gone. Without the vaccine to help fight those, the development of less-dangerous variations doesn’t help and most likely doesn’t happen.

 

Little proud of big brother for realizing this is a Steeler Message Board and not a medical one.
