I was hoping they could have contained Joe Mixon last week and they pretty much did until he got hurt then the Bengals put in BU RB Samaje Perine who gashed our defense on screen pass plays for 3 TD's. Steelers offense needs to win the TOP or else the defense will be worn down again by halfway thru the 3rd qtr.

Yep. He and Ja'Marr Chase are both out for the Bengals today. Should be a good game but I think Titans are seeking playoff revenge from last year.

At this point, this team is what it is and that isn't very good by any metric on either side of the ball. What I want to see is a good performance by Kenny Pickett, particularly his accuracy which has been spotty at best.

That's what I want to see as well. A poster earlier said his 65% completion was middle of the road. Granted the ypc are low and short passes make the % easier, 65% is not a bad metric. Mahomes is 66.2, Allen 64.7, Brady 66, Herbert 66.6. The key to development will be can he consistently throw a deeper ball and can he hit receivers in stride.

I watched KP all thru his Pitt days, he is much more accurate
Than he has shown so far. He will get it straightened out.

Pickett needs one of those games where we come away saying that yeah, he’s definitely our guy for the foreseeable future. I’ve been a KP supporter and I’ve seen some things that lead me to believe that he could be. I’ve also seen some things that have given me flashbacks to the 80s. It’s time for him to have that early career defining game that alleviates any doubts about him. My biggest concern is will he be able to do that with the yahoo we currently have calling the plays?

I guess I am a half full guy. I still believe Steelers have a good nucleus
    To work with.

I agree, but hard to see that happening in this limited offence and the one who calls it.

Like you I see small moments and can see improvement. Taking his team downfield with 36 seconds left in the half was significant. No TD, and I can't even recall of they had penalty help..none of that really matters. To just hold it together and move the chains to get that score shows a lot of poise, will build confidence with him and the team.

He also has limited time in the pocket, most QBs tend to have worse accuracy and decision making when they hear footsteps

Good call. That line is not helping his development at all. It's telling that even Ben, as a shell of his former self, was still capable of covering up for a lot of warts with this offense on both personnel and scheme.

True, which needs upgrades on the left side. Plus they have the Happy Trickster and his 10 play sheet which is not helping either and his lack of awareness to make adjustments.

I got a good feeling for MNF. Since they are not televised often anymore where I live I will be getting my first real look at Kenny. I think Kenny and the Steelers have a good game. I really think this will be his best start of his young career.

I was shocked at how porous the Denver o-line is. Carolina defenders were just pouring through, getting to Wilson faster than Pickett gets harassed. Yikes.

Well... remember that Derrick Brown is still there; Brian Burns also. While Brown has taken some time to get there, he has arrived imo. He is going to continually get better. Do not forget Shaq Thompson or Jeremy Chinn either.

While the Panthers still need some time to get back on track, their Defense is already there. Getting that guy at QB will make a major difference moving forward.

Taylor is a threat no doubt about it.
He can control a game very easily and that would open up Pittman and the vertical game.

I look for Watt to have a good game, Ryan is a sitting duck back there.

The Colts Defense is banged up, but they are pretty good.
We're going to need Harris to have a good game.
Pickett will need to play mistake free as well, take what the defense gives.

Kept Kamara in check and Mixon...until he was injured. The issue will be can they contain the receivers?

If Larry O and Cam play good then yes they can contain him.

When Larry O is not in there Steelers seems to struggle in containing rushing attacks a whole lot more.
