It wasn't that many times that they talked about it, and one they harped on was the time Pickett saw Harris matched up on a defensive end and figured that was a matchup they should win.

Also, it is absolutely ridiculous to blame the quarterback for losing a game when he didn't turn the ball over once and the defense gave up 37 points.

Sometimes when they did double up on Higgins(which wasn't often)....then Burrow would throw short ,and nobody could come up ,and tackle. That's how they had a few big gains on very short throws. Burrow is pretty good at taking what the D gives him.

I'm guessing they didn't see two of the 2021 first round picks who were selected higher than Pickett from yesterday's game where each team only got a field goal for all their efforts and special teams won it with a return for a TD with a few seconds left.

I don't want to map out all the All-22 plays and define them - as I told Mashburn, I am retired and just don't want to spend that much time on them.
But I can most assuredly say, Burrows and his offensive game plan, did a great job of luring them out of position.
That's not saying those are the Steeler LB's of the 70's... there's 3 guys that are probably keepers and only 1 that would start anywhere, the other 4 should have to compete for their jobs.

I am taken aback by the play off ALL the DB's. I admire the effort by Wallace but he also got beat a lot.
The more I look at the film, the more I am questioning the Defensive game plan.
I think it just comes down to poor personnel.
Take Wallace for example, he might be ok if you had a shutdown corner opposite of him.
Of the Safeties, Minkah is about it.

I was pretty close to the field all night.

Muth looked like he got beat up in this game...

I think he needs to add some muscle in the offseason or he is going to have a short career.

Build up that core, neck, and upper body to try to prevent some of those concussions.

In the 3rd QTR our Offense had 3 (3 and Outs) and 1 (4 and out).

I am not sure how you can blame the defense for this game when they are having to be constantly on the field.

And when did Mason Cole get knocked out of the game? Was this what changed in the 2nd half?

    Agreed.

Pittsburgh not taking any CB within the First Three Rounds since Cam Sutton is showing.... bad. Never mind that, any of the low risk, low reward signings have either yielded no return or have cashed elsewhere. Hopefully with Andy Weidl this changes.

That said, I still want the trenches addressed. If anything, I wanted them addressed in 2020.

I have to watch that again. The announcers did a terrible job in that regard. I don't think they ever mentioned that Cole was out of the game.

The defense gave up 37 points. They weren't good. I don't know why that concept is so difficult for you.

Alex Kozora has been saying in the offseason they need to fix the left side of the OL, Dotson has been a disappointment this season, look for an upgrade for Moore in the draft.

Pickett's best pass was the dropped long pass by Pickens who would've had a TD.

Saw some real innovative play calling by the 49ers in the MNF game. I wish we can be half as innovative

Most importantly is when He calls the plays. He is very good at that.

I agree with these assessments, he also needs to learn how to RUN block.

Aren’t the Steelers obligated to take Porter? I mean, isn’t there a team rule about always drafting or signing family members of players, past and present, when available?

A lot of that is a function of o-line play, especially the left side. The pocket starts collapsing almost immediately. If they start giving Pickett a cleaner pocket and just a little more time, some of those passes will be completed for big plays. OT is imperative in the first round of the 2023 draft.

Well, looking for positives I guess it could be said that we have very generous defense.
