That's my point, that you are allowing your biases about the pick to overwhelm any reasonable evaluation of Pickett.

Never mind that almost every pre-draft ranking had him in the first round, some in the top 10.

The fact the you are writing him off after 6 starts and already calling it a stupid pick that will have to be redrafted, just proves what was said about you.

No reasonable person without a bias and a burning need for confirmation would do that. It's absurd and defines common sense and all logic.

What did you expect from a rookie? Were you looking for Big Ben, part 2?

What do you want to see from him? Do you not see progress the past two weeks? Or is that progress not enough? What will be enough? Will it EVER be enough?

If you need a starting / Franchise QB, and
Progress? I guess progress is measured in different ways, the last 2 weeks you speak of...

    18/30...199...0/0
    25/42...265...1/0

Progress?.I guess you could call it that, from his games before those 2... Which were even worse...

    He's had ONE TD ( on a blown coverage ) in 8 Quarters...Yippie

Why do TDs have to come from passing? How about the passes that get dropped?

He also threw a perfect deep ball to Pickens that should have been a touchdown, but it was dropped. If you are going to talk about the blown coverage, the drop also must be mentioned.

I believe 30 is the fewest attempts he has had in a start. Roethlisberger didn't reach that total in any regular-season game his rookie year and he had a much better team around him.

    Ahhh Yeah.
Meaning they should be complaining about the D and not Pickett.

Pickett's going to be a very good QB for some team but I'm almost certain the ever so pessimistic Steelers fans will dutifully run him out of town. They will stop at nothing until we draft the next Patrick Mahomes. They will then scream that the new guy is no good either after 3 years of Coach Cliche's magnificent tutoring.

Well he did what the coaches tell him to do, the kid is being set up for a successful career and that’s all that matters

You didn't answer the question. Specifically, what progress would you like to see and what do you expect from Pickett to make you think that he wasn't a waste of a first round pick? Let's hear it.

It's easy to not answer the question and just sit there and be critical every week.

As for the last two games...yes, that's progress. He's protecting the ball much better and continuing to make good throws. He lead two late second quarter scoring drives that put them up by 3 at the half, and did so with confidence and poise, and command of the offense, making timely plays when needed.
Is there a lot to improve? Sure. He misses way too many throws and is too inconsistent.

    No doubt.
I met Bob Pompeani at a charity event the week before KPs first start. I asked him what he thought of KP. He said that he thinks that he can be really good, but he's "not in the ACC anymore" and will need time to develop. His concern was that Steelers fans won't give him a chance because "you know how they are." So yes, even our local media knows what a bunch of dopey Yinzers some of our fans can be.

Mason has proven himself to be a class act and I hope he lands somewhere and develops into an above average starting quarterback. He’ll be lucky to get out of this crapshow and I fear that Tomlin and the “bargain basement” OCs he likes to bring in are going to ruin Pickett’s career before it gets off the ground!

I thought the same thing for Mason as I do Kenny. You have to give them more than a dang part of a season, but what's funny is a lot of those same people were clamoring over a Qb named Trubisky who had over 60 games played, and over 50 games started....yet they wanted to give Him more time. :shrug:LoL

Let’s wait until we at least get a real OC in here instead of some bargain basement buddy of Tomlin before we totally write the kid off. I still think he can be successful but if we’re not going to see a change at the HC level and we’re not, Art Rooney needs to make sure that Tomlin is not the sole decision maker in the next OC hire. He’ll screw it up again and further stunt Pickett’s development.

And don’t forget the perfect pass to Najee the week before that should have been a touchdown but was dropped.
