Yesterday’s attendance was 66401 which was 97.1% of the 68400 capacity

For those of you who don’t seem to understand this attendance is butts in the seats or beer line or peeing

For the knucklehead who suggested the lack of fans buying tickets will cause ownership to make changes the games are sold out

The waiting list last I heard was now up to people who signed up in April 1995

Steeler games will be sold out until I’m the oldest person on earth

I agree with everything you said - fan attendance will be a non-factor.

In fact, look at the pirates, it hasn’t changed their approach in decades.

Corporations buys them up and nobody shows up. It’s how the Pens kept their sell out streak alive. Steelers continue to suck and it gets colder. Stadium will be 60-75% soon.

I counted while watching on TV, and I only counted 58,221 fans. Some of the freeze frame images of the upper deck were a bit blurry though.

Do you ever get a fact correct troll

No corporations don’t buy the tickets not unless they owned them before Heinz Field opened

And they will continue to put fans in the seats

It matters a bit, but not that much. Fewer bums in seats means fewer concession sales and less parking revenue, but that’s small potatoes compared to the seat costs and broadcast revenue.

Yes, I’m already being offered free tickets from businesses. Also, less and less people will show up as the season goes on.

    So….today?

@SDOT — it’s not tickets sold. It’s bodies through the gates.

I think the Steelers changed their method and now announce paid attendance. Paid attendance was over 66,000 yesterday.

They used to only announce physical attendance.

Once revenue sharing became a thing the Pirates little payroll is just about paid for by the bigger teams. Mr. Nutbag doesn't need anyone to walk into PNC and he still makes money.

Cold weather doesn't matter to me. Or record for that matter. I will be in my seat on December 11th for the Ravens game :)

Not sure of the purpose of this thread or why it was created, but yes, the games are sold out because everyone bought their tickets in the spring. But this is completely different from attendance, which is actual asses in the seat (or dicks at the urinal).

The Steelers are, at best, middle of the road when it comes to attendance. 99.7% is currently 18th best in the league. Last year they were 29th.

However, this will have absolutely zero impact on how Mr Rooney et al runs the team, as they already have your money. They got it in the spring, and will continue to get it every spring for probably the rest of my life.

In general, businesses aren't buying random tickets. They're buying club and suite level seats in the spring.

I just got done talking to a Bengals fan who went to the game yesterday. He told me that Heinz Field (not Acrisure) is a super nice stadium and all the Steelers fans were really nice to their group. He said he went to the Steelers Bengals game in Cincy and said he probably was done going to NFL games altogether because how idiotic Bengals fans were being to opposing fans. He only went yesterday cause the Bengals new punter is his friends son and he got them tickets. Said he can't wait to go back to Pittsburgh to see another game.

The Steelers usually have 60,000 in the seats.
But I was there, and there are empties.
I hate it when I go to see the Pirates and it looks a Miami game.. I am disappointed int he owner there.
I remember back in the day, Pittsburgh was comparable to Green Bay on game day.
If you didn't get to the game, you got to the local neighborhood beer garden.

Now comments about Mr. Rooney 'not caring' are a bit unfounded.
I happen to know that family. They do care.

    Winning cures everything.

I will also add, Steelers fans do travel well, that's a little something.

The Steelers are the best at putting fans in the stands at away games. I don't know if this is just at indoor stadiums or warmer climates where you don't need a piece of cardboard to help keep your feet warm.
