    He is coming on...
He's got to keep dialing it in though.

I’ve watched a few of the breakdowns by this guy and am not impressed at all. Way too much of a homer. Cherry pick 3-4 completions and ignore the plays where Pickett made poor reads and didn’t throw to wide open receivers. The same thing last week. DJ had that cb beat on the first play of the game and he went across the middle to muth or pickens instead. I know he’s a rookie, but for a player whose strong points are supposed to be accuracy and decision making he’s not showing it

I didn't watch the breakdown yet.

My opinion from watching the game yesterday was that Pickett was awful.

He missed throws he should have made. He held the ball at times and scrambled when he should have thrown the ball. Even the TD to Pickens was off his back foot and was less than accurate.

The sad truth is Pickett looked a lot like Trubisky yesterday. Scattered.

I don't disagree with the missed reads.
But I do disagree with not seeing it getting better.
That TD pass was a thing of beauty and he's dialing in the 'smarter passes' much better.
He is handicapped in whatever it is Matt Canada's is teaching.. (to be honest, I think Tom Brady would throw Canada's playbook in the trash and draw plays in the dirt.)
And last night, I saw him manage audibles very well.
I'm not going to try to convince anybody of what they see, but it is noted: Pickett was never rated as high as Burrows, to just walk up behind the center and start winning.
But I am seeing an ascension that was talked about quite a lot last evening.

Gotta find this kid a running game.. we should be running the ball 25-30 times/game
And not calling that stupid Flea-Flicker. (Jesus!)
Just a few thoughts I have.

I agree with this. But what scares me is that we are starting to see accuracy issues with Pickett where he is missing throws.

With a rookie I expect turnovers, forcing things sometimes, and hesitation others. But when you start seeing a guy having trouble making throws, that is a bad sign.

I have been a big supporter, but I am starting to have doubts.

The TD pass was a blown coverage...There was nobody within 10 yards of Pickens...It showed pre snap that the Bengals were all pointing at each other, confused...

What makes you think it was a thing of beauty?

i think this is it, as of this AM

reminds me of Kyle Boller, can't even hit a 5yd wide open crossing route.

never have ANY IDEA where the ball is going when it leaves his hand. he is not good......right now

Are we talking about the same play?
3rd and 9, Pickett gets pressure, Pickens blows by the defender, TD in the corner with a nice pass
    Aye-karumba man.... that was nice.

I'll even add that sideline to Pickens was damn good too..

I mean this is pretty much spot on. Being fair and looking at his stats he clearly has been bad. Doesn’t mean he can’t get better although with Canada and Tomlin I have my doubts.

He didn't play particularly well, but in his defense on the TD throw to Pickens, he got nailed as soon as he released it so the back foot throw was probably a result of the pressure he was feeling.

It looks like he is already " seeing Ghosts " ...Not every play obviously but, There were guys WIDE open yesterday...He HAS to see them!

Go watch it, On the THIRD play of the game...Muth was wide open over the middle for a first down, and he checked it down for a pass that was 5 yards short of the sticks!

I seen a lot of routes that were open yesterday, and he never pulled the trigger ( which imo is his biggest flaw )

Every QB will miss throws, but not having good vision is very concerning

The one to Pickens was beautiful...But the TD was a blown coverage...I will give him credit for hanging in there on that play though... Because he took a shot

Every single college and pro qb makes that pass. Pickens was wide open. Not even high school open. That was pop Warner open. You’re basically praising a guy for making a throw he should make blindfolded. Everyone bitching about Canada’s playbook, but ignoring the part where they mentioned simplifying it during the bye week. This is the most pro ready qb in the draft and we had to simplify a simple offense in week 10?

    Well, there you have it.
I can see Akili Smith making that throw... awesome.

I can't figure out what we aren't starting Mason... damn.

they are not starting Mason b/c they quit on him years ago. WHY he is still on the roster is another Dumlin mystery. It is Pickett the rest of the year, If we lose them all - we know he is not the future and we draft or sign a top FA next year. HE HAS to play the rest of the games, it is not about winning this year. if Pickett were in this years QB class, where would he be ranked - , 5, 6 7? If he SUCKS, can him early (like move on in the offseason). Waster another first rounder if need be, the MOST IMPORTANT position on the team. Fire CANDA-DUH and find the fight QB is priority #1.

    HE SUCKED yesterday.

    Perfect logic.
    Maybe "Dumlin" will resign too.
What is a "Fight QB" is that one from the Fighting Irish?

The only thing that can be said about Pickett with any certainty is about his play up to this point, which to a certain degree has not been good enough and needs to get better. Neither I or any one on this board can say with any certainty what he can or will be. At this point it's just speculation and educated(and some uneducated) guesses.

All we can do is hope like hell he improves throughout the rest of this season. I can say with a certain amount of confidence that the Steelers are not going to pick another QB in next years draft so that idea can be shelved, at least for the rest of the season.

Without the final drive Pickett was 5/16 for 47 yards in the second half. Tell me how he played well again.

    just for you @Steelers-MT

LOL.. The TD pass was less than accurate ? He was about to get clobbered and threw a perfect pass.
Some of you people have no idea what you are watching.
