Ryan Mandy cost us that game he kept biting on the fake run by Tebow when he should have had coverage

Ike just gets blamed because he looked like he was chasing the receiver Mandy let go of

If Ryan Clark had played that game we would have won and possibly easily

Mundy jumped the line of scrimmage. Ike had outside leverage, probably thinking he had deep safety help. He didn't.

3 plays in the Super Bowl and 1 in the playoffs with the game on the line. Did he ever make a game changing play when needed??

Another classic case of Steelers fans believing what the media tells them and not watching with their own eyes.

Yes, Ike is a Top 3 best corner for the Steelers since he played. But that’s not saying a whole lot since we’ve had mostly terrible ones.

Compared to other corners. He was average. He did the bare minimum on stacked defenses. Never made a crucial play and got burned in crucial situations.

He got bullied in the Cardinals Super Bowl too. Rodgers just targeted a lesser corner in Tyrone Carter all game but Ike got burned with game on the line.

That’s another thing. We never had another half decent corner on the other side so it made Ike look better. William Gay was eh and probably next best.

He was terrible that day. One game does not make a career.

He had a big interception in Super Bowl XL, so yes, he did make a game-changing play when needed. Also, Tyrone Carter was not a cornerback. He was a safety. The corners opposite Taylor in the Super Bowl against the Packers were William Gay and Bryant McFadden. Not knowing these basic facts marks your opinion on this topic as worthless.

Tyrone Carter played all the DB positions. He actually wasn’t on the team for the Packers Super Bowl. So I guess it was McFadden getting cooked.

Doesn’t matter Ike got burned on the 3rd and 10 that basically decided the game. We get that stop and we might win that Super Bowl.

He got cooked by Fitzgerald for two TDs and almost cost us the Super Bowl.

He got cooked by Tebow and DT in OT. Probably one of the most embarrassing playoff loses ever.

This guy is great? LOL average

The loss to the Broncos was embarrassing, but that is irrelevant to the discussion. It was one bad play.

There wasn't a cornerback in the game who could have stopped Fitzgerald on that first touchdown in the Super Bowl. It was thrown perfectly to a receiver who wasn't just the best in the game at the time at high-pointing the ball. He may have done it better than any receiver in the history of the game. That you think that is somehow an indictment of Taylor is just another demonstration of your ignorance.

On the other touchdown, Taylor was beaten on a short route over the middle. It was a touchdown because the safeties were out of position. That's not entirely on Taylor. Again, if you had any idea what you are talking about, you would know that. Did you even see what Fitzgerald did during the Cardinals' playoff run that year? Deion Sanders in his prime would have had trouble stopping Fitzgerald that year.

Carter was a safety for the Steelers. He did play some corner in his career, mostly early on with the Vikings, but you not knowing his position isn't the truly embarrassing part of your argument. You claimed that Aaron Rodgers didn't go after Taylor in Super Bowl XLV because he was too busy going after Carter at the other corner, which would have been impossible because Carter was no longer a Steeler. He played for the Chargers in 2010.

By all means, keep on embarrassing yourself. I'm enjoying the amusement at your expense.

In this instance his point of view is accurate. Pickett has not been good. He’s made a couple decent plays, but he’s also missed a bunch of plays. Don’t get me wrong I’m not blaming him for our current state, but he has definitely been part of the problem. Will he become our next great franchise quarterback? That is still unknown. In order for that to happen he will need to take some significant steps over the next 8 games.

For significant steps of improvement, you need significant changes. What are those changes and what part does the OC play in all this ...for the players' overall part, it's execution. Individually, the QB reading the field better and throwing quicker or more accurate..the the OL giving a second or two longer on average for the QB to throw...for the WRs getting separation sooner in their routes and coming back to the ball when the QB is is flushed out of the pocket. The running game immensely improved last week so that was a big plus.

Pickett can be better without Canada and the players around him doing better jobs. He can make the throws that are there more consistently. Canada isn't making it any easier on him, which is no surprise. The guy isn't good at his job, but Pickett can be better, too.
