Not true. Again you can’t seem to grasp the point being made. We all know the Steelers have some problems. Most acknowledge that Tomlin needs to go. Yet some people like yourself can’t help yourself. You can hardly make a post without repeating the same negative crap you’ve already said across multiple threads. Move on already.

I disagree, respectfully, with the idea of basically throwing games by keeping the best player on the field on defense (TJ) off the field, in order to (rest him, gain higher draft status, whatever your intention is). I never believe in giving up, first thing! But let's say you were proposing that we lose in order to gain higher draft status?! Who would you go after? Unfortunately (IMO), the best play for the Steelers would be to trade the pick for an experienced OL. That scenario is highly unrealistic. There is no "need" at the top of the draft for the Steelers. It's QBs, Edge rushers mainly. Could we use another Edge Rusher? Absolutely! Would you be willing to pay top 10 pick money for an unproven? I hope not! The truth is that the Steelers will probably land in the top 13 picks (even with trying to win) the rest of the season. The LOS on both sides(sans TJ) is just not very good! This is where it all starts.

Now, I've mentioned this before. I think it would be worth taking more of a New England approach on defense. Shopping TJ for a trade by season's end is where you are probably going to get the most value. He's in his prime. With the money freed up, you can then bring in solid guys (plural-more than one) with that money alone. It's just not a good idea to put all of your "eggs" in one basket, which is what happened with TJ. Proof? The first half of the season, the moment he went down! To rebuild this team and get it back to prominence, the Steelers will need to bring in a blend of quality draft picks to fill holes on the LOS (both sides). I'm hoping they get one or two vet quality OL through FA. Maybe a solid edge rusher through FA as well. Then fill in a few gaps on the LOS through the draft (and also create some depth). Draft another WR and possibly RB in the later rounds (5-7 or any extra picks we get through previous trades etc). And of course, bring in Jack Colletto :).

The elephant in the room is the coaching staff and it ALWAYS starts at the top with the HC. We know he's not going anywhere but both coordinators need to go! There's a lot of work to be done! But doable.

I know it would be a tough pill to swallow. I like TJ but in reality, he is eating a lot of cap space, he's getting older (for NFL years) and this defense can't afford for him to go down anymore. And realistically, he will be out more often as he climbs in age. It becomes that age old saying; "doing the same old thing and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity! Like it or not, this defense (the way it is set up) will not work if one key piece (TJ) is missing. That can't be a realistic model in today's NFL. Next man up!

This dude didn't just say TJ Wstt is getting old? Jesus he literally just turned 28, according to you Aaron Donald and Von Miller should of retired years ago their both over 30. Miles Garrett turns 27 this year is he getting to old. What a horrible take.

Read the post! "for NFL years"! Meaning, as a player. do you have any idea what the average lifespan of any player is in the NFL?

I think between last season and this season we’re 11-5-1 with Watt and 1-9 without him. I’m thinking we should keep him.
