That's his theme. The Sky is falling. He should start every show with this as His theme song.

Kenny was pretty bad in the first half, looked better in the 2nd. I don't see him getting better sitting on the bench, sometimes you just have to let it ride. A couple of his throws were nfl quality, as for lack of td passes..show me a scheme that makes sense.

I missed the majority of the game so have no first hand knowledge. From what I’ve read on Steelers Depot madden is pretty spot on with his analysis in this case. They talked about accuracy issues yesterday and bailing on the pocket when there was no need etc.. with that being said madden is generally of the sky is falling type.

The accuracy issue was the 1st quarter mainly, but yes like most rookie Qbs He bails the pocket when He shouldn't. A nice slide up would be nice. I do hope someone is working with Him on such things.

I really tried to pay attention to how many times he had a good pocket to go through his progressions vs other teams. He did bail a couple times early, but I didn't get a sense that he could drop back and consistently have the time necessary to go through progressions and then really step into a throw. Not a surprise as our offensive line does not consistently win their battles but we will see how he does when the line hopefully improves in 2023. Some of it maybe now him anticipating the blind slide collapse. Hard to know for sure. Many of you who have watched him at Pitt might have insight on his tendencies.

To me, it seems like KP suffered from the "Trubisky-dont-make-a-mistake" syndrome in the first quarter/half. He seemed timid in his throws and pretty slow to do things - he did take a bunch of hits as well. He got better in the second half.

I still say it's not possible to objectively judge any QB when Canada is OC. Hopefully KP survives this year and gets experience, and Steelers change OC without messing around with a "QB competition" in the preseason (i.e. show faith in KP).

    Madden.... the former Wrestling commentator.
His claim to fame: Wishing Ted Kennedy had lived long enough to be assassinated.
Other than that, he's never met a doughnut he didn't like.

For me, his entire football knowledge could be summed up in a single word - none
    or maybe
    doughnut

When I am forced to read his tripe, the best way I found to stomach it is to imagine a really bad Ric Flair or one of those old goofy wrestling characters
with rubber bands in their beard or something, preaching about his takeover.

    A zero.

Madden shouldn't be able to drag anybody anywhere because any intelligent adult should know enough to ignore him.

Madden has made a career making Steelers fans angry, it is what he does.

But, it must work because he has good radio ratings for a good number of years.

He has moved his sights to Kenny Pickett.. to get you guys all going and angry.

Beginning of the year, he was anti-Trubisky, and was saying there's no point having KP ride the pine.

I listened to one of his podcasts and he came out and said he writes the articles as click bait... lol.

A man who specializes in sensationalistic hyperbole should not be relied upon to provide objective analysis. Kenny Pickett is a rookie and he still has a lot to learn. His red zone play needs to improve (along with Canada’s play calling and game planning) and he needs to cut back on the interceptions. Yesterday was a good step in cutting back on the picks as he didn’t try to force anything that wasn’t there. More TDs in the red zone would be nice and he should have had at least one yesterday. The throw to Najee Harris was big time. He had several other throws that were NFL quality throws. Pickett is going to be fine but he needs an OC to help advance his football knowledge and a couple of top flight offensive linemen to protect his backside. He has an opportunity to be very good. Just how good remains to be seen.

    Madden is an idiot

Kenny hears footsteps, so he rushes throws. Give him more than 3 tenths of a second and you'll see his accuracy and decision making improve.

Kenny has the tools. His handlers idk. I’m sure his internal clock is rushed a bit by the circumstances involving the line breakdown.

he’s mature enough to break free from old habits (hopefully) but getting the line shored up and some good X’s and O’s Influence in the clubhouse will pay dividends moving forward. Or atleast hope it would. Whether this kid is it or not, I hope they’d atleast invest in the pieces needed and not knee jerk into another QB 1st round. Build it up and have it ready for the next kid should it come to it….

blah blah blah ad nauseum and such just rooting for him and the team and no regressions moving forward

No freaking way this team has a knee jerk reaction, and drafts a Qb in the 1st round.
It would take KP imploding the rest of the year, or a major major injury IMO.

Madden is today's internet troll kryptonite. Half his ratings are based on riling up fanboys and the ill-informed, anonymous, phony-tough, forum/twitter clowns.

As if Roethlisberger was consistent in the red zone. This has been a Steelers problem for years... consistently scoring TDs in the red zone by pass. Not surprised Pickett is having the same issues.

I haven't heard one person mention the drop in the endzone by Najee, that would have been a great TD pass. Tough catch but should have been made.
Kenny had 51 yards rushing, which is good. When he gets sacked, it is his fault ?? He has to escape the pocket alot, and sometimes runs into pressure , can you blame him? Madden is a phat POS who makes it a point to pick who the fans like and attack. He did the same thing to JuJu last season.
I wont listen to phat Madden anymore. He makes me sick.

I don't mind Mark Madden. He has some good views from time to time.

His show is more for entertainment than anything else. It's old school shock jock sports journalism. He says things to piss people off and sucks people who hate him into listening.

It works for him. His show is popular. So my hats off to him. You just have to take everything he says with a grain of salt.

I will say he is a very knowledgeable hockey guy. He does a pretty good job covering the Pens IMO.
