Well he made me sick tonight....The over throw by Batch was not that far off...I am not sure if he could have caught it ,but he gave no effort....He has a good vertical and pretty long Arms and IMO had he used them he could have caught that ball...

Another let's make newly retired player a coach post?
You would be better off seeing if they could somehow transplant Ward's hands on Wallace!

ya know I was going to include that when I typed the deal with Wallace but since it was a " wallace " thread left it out ....

but your 100% correct Sanders fumble was inexcusable as well not a man 1 between him and the end zone turn on the jets and get there son !! ( oh and hold onto the dam ball in the process )

I haven't been on the bash em bandwagon, and will not be. With that stated, I'm not happy w/ what I saw from him tonight.

That throw from Batch may have been over his head but you still jump. I don't care, you go for it. You don't stand there and just look at it and make your 3rd string QB look even worse. That was a New York "ish" type of chump show. Diva

And let's not forget the Wallace cost us 7 points in the first Ravens' game. The margin of victory, 3 points.

He was about to jump, you could see him start to bend his knees but the ball was so ridiculously high, he didn't bother, I don't blame him. Shaq couldn't have caught that.

If he was Kazaam he could've. But I'm assuming you were taking that in to account when you typed that right Tommy my boy? You were just saying that regular Shaq couldn't have while assuming we all know that you realize Kazaam could have right? I just want to be clear. Kazaam could have caught that ball for sure.

Also give him Ward's heart while we're at it.

After further scientific analysis, it has been determined that the ball went over his head at 11 ft. 7.5 inches. Wallace is 6 ft. tall and has a vertical leap of 40 inches, that's a total of 9 ft. 4 inches. Wallace's reach gives him another 2 ft. 6 inches for a total of 11 ft. 10 inches. This PROVES that Wallace had a chance to catch the ball had he just made the effort!

Dang Jack! Have you been watching Bill Nye the Science Guy or something? You should also scientifically analyze the immaculate reception as well. LOL.

No point in being disappointed in Mike`s play anymore...
The only one he`s really hurting in the long term, is himself*.... and (*) = our team...
Not gonna get a big contract, if that`s all he`s putting on tape, for other teams to look at...
and the more he keeps playing like that, the more likely it is, that Mike just de-activates him, like he did Rashard, this week...
Sad, really, `cause if he gave some effort, he could really help us...
Yeah, one ball was way off target, and two other balls, he helped us with, but, really.. that`s all he could do.. ?
    And wants Fitzgerald money?
    I think NOT!!!

LOL! Actually, BFT, most of that was crap. There is some fact, like his height and vertical, mixed in with some fiction, like how high the ball was over his head. But the premise is just total unadulterated fabrication. I was hoping to get a reaction out of TE there.;)

I do not post on here much...and for good reason...posts like the last few bashing wallace sound moronic. As fans you are allowed to voice your opinion anyway you want, but if you decide to do so please sound somewhat intelligent. Has wallace been less than par the last few weeks of course he has. He came in today and also made a bad drop on charlies throw on the offsides, but for goodness sake he made some huge catches down the stretch and in key situations. There is not a faster Wr in the league and that talent is hard to find. He makes our Wrs collectively and arguably the best in the league...without him you could not make that statement.

As far as the guy who wants Hines to come in and coach LMFAO..I love Hines but some people need to get out of the past. How the heck do you know what type of heart wallace has? Do you know him personally...I bet you were not saying these things when he took it to the house against the G-men...name one other Wr that could make that play...I don't know of many that could out run 2 guys with a 10 yard angle...

    Ridiculous

Well if you consider SPEED to be "talent" then I guess that's fine. However speed is only one part of what Wallace has. Who cares how much speed he has if he can't catch it. Here is a simple question for you. Is he worth Larry Fitzgerald money? Yes or No. Does he go up and catch the ball at its highest point? Yes or no. Does he turn defender on bad passes? Yes or no. Does he run a variety of routes well? Yes or no. Do THE ROONEY'S think he is worth what he is asking? Yes or no. There is some good natured jabs that we take on here but as far as "bashing" I don't think that happens too much. I don't see how someone saying they wish Hines would coach up our guys is ridiculous either. He's a future Hall of Famer and he owns all of our records here. So I suppose you never wish that Wallace could catch like Swann either huh? I guess that would be "living in the past" right? Wallace is just simply one of those guys that has what TOMLIN, MIKE TOMLIN, called "ONE TRICK PONY". Go watch the highlights of Calvin Johnson today and you will see that Wallace is not HALF of what he thinks he is. Go look at the catches that Johnson made today and get back to me. Go watch Sidney Rice turn defender in the Bears game and tell me if you see Wallace do that and get back to me. I'm telling you Wallace is NOT worth what he's asking.

Lers, I think the problem that most of us have with Wallace is that he failed to negotiate in good faith with the Steelers in the off season, passing on a contract that would have made him the highest paid Steeler WR in history and one of the highest paid Steelers at any position in history. Why? Because in his deluded mind he was worth more than the Steelers were willing to pay. One thing I will say about the Steelers organization is that they are usually pretty good at establishing fair market value on an up and coming player. Wallace hasn't helped himself this year by dropping several key passes and failing to make the plays that a top flight WR makes and by seemingly giving up on balls and not putting forth the kind of effort that we see players like Heath ad AB putting forth. I think most of the criticism that Wallace is now getting is much deserved. He'll sell himself to the highest bidder in the off season but I think he cost himself millions by not signing the fair offer the Steelers put in front of him, which by most accounts was 5yr / $50 million.

That would be a good case study for Bill Nye or that Sports Science show, to show whether or not it was physically possible for Wallace to have caught the ball.
    :hmmm:

if speed was the only requirement to play WR in the NFL and be effective the league would be over run with track stars from around the world , sure his peed permits him to make some plays that most can not make but those plays are few and far between ... this league is more about consistency and as of right now you would be hard pressed to find a starter anywhere in this league that is less consistent ...

Mike Wallaces total and complete lack of effort on many plays the past few weeks has bought himself a 1 way ticket out of town in FA , he will not be offered a contract by the steelers now or ever again IMO that boat has already sailed ... he has lost the confidence of his head Coach who demoted him from " The Man " to a co starter with a guy who makes far less money than he does and has far less game exp than he does and that move was for a reason ....

Wallace has not 1 time since he has been in the league fought for a ball the defender made a play on , he has a 40 inch vertical yet his feet rarely leave the ground for a jump ball scenario , they rarely leave the ground on a ball thrown a little high , his hands are seemingly turning to stone yet the man wants to be paid like a top 5 WR in the league ....

we made him an offer in the off season he refused it , Brown got his payday and happily signed the deal .....

I take great comfort in knowing Mike Wallace just might get his brinks truck backed up for him by some NFL team and I take that comfort for a few reasons ....

    1) It will not be the steelers driving that truck
    2) whatever team is driving the brinks truck is spending a large portion of their salary cap on a 1 dimensional WR that will not give you everything he has got
    3) if Money is what had him down in the dumps now concentration wise and effort wise he will be worse when he no longer has to try and prove that worth and has the money

sure he can make a few plays nobody else can but look at how many he does not make that almost anyone can .... I will take the guy who makes more plays and play I can rely on

Yep! Since Wallace is so impoverished and I am filled with such holiday generosity right now I will actually pay his cab fare out of town if he needs help.

no hes not worth what he is asking..but he also is not worthless... he completes this wr corp ...and the person who wants to replace him with a pass catching TE.....cripes

    and yes speed is talent...

calvin johnson is a once in a lifetime WR in fact once in a century wr to compare anyone to him is not realistic ...
