Wow, really? Some of you guys don’t know what its like to be a fan of a bad team.

You’ve been privileged to watch a team that is in the hunt every year and meaningful football week in and week out.

Imagine if this season was what we had for the last 10 years. I get that the ultimate goal is a SB but don’t dismiss out of hand a team that has given you a product that you can watch late into the season and still mean something.

You Do know Mike Tomlin is 5-2 against Andy Reid before Pat Mahomes. That counts Eagles, and KC

Thank you, Ben, for drawing up plays in the sand and keeping us competitive through the sheer force of your will!

The point is we are not other franchises, there is a higher standard here. We expect to make a legitimate playoff run with the talent that we have had.
    As it should be!!!

This way of thinking is why so many Steelers fans are spoiled and soft.

So P. Mahomes is keeping Reid competitive???
I showed you Tomlins record against Reid before Mahomes....5-2.....Reid has been a HC for 23 years, and has one SB win.
    He's wasting talent then huh???

    An annoying bash Tomlin thread…

Why is every criticism of Tomlin something you feel as though you have to take exception to even though I believe you’ve said on this board that you’re not particularly happy with Coach Cliche yourself? Instead of making snide remarks and calling people names, why don’t you take some of my criticisms and offer your counterpoint to defend Tomlin and the team’s overall performance over the last decade? What have I said specifically that you take exception to? It hasn’t been good and no matter how much perfume you poor on the turd you can’t make it smell good. It stinks!

So what’s your point? Are you happy with the overall job Tomlin has done over the last 10 years. My point was that he’s gotten way too much credit for non-losing t seasons when Ben has more to do with that than he does. Call it a bash Tomlin thread if you’d like. But maybe Tomlin needs to be bashed for the team’s underperformance. He is the HEAD COACH after all.

I don't get the point of being soft, if you expect a team with the talent we've had over the last decade to actually have achieved significantly more than what was produced. We went to the AFC championship in 2016 but every fan knew it was over the moment we lined up in zone on the firs series against Brady. So how is that soft, its called you play or coach for one of the top franchises in the league, perform!!

Everyone gets that, but then You ,and others throw Reid, or S. Peyton in as coaches We should have, and they are worse.
Reid ....23 years as a HC...one SB win.
    S. Peyton....one SB win.
    It's hard.
I've heard people say S. Mcvay is the greatest football mind, but ....trading all their picks, and buying every player they can get their hands on, and what.....one freaking SB, and don't look good for their future.....it's freaking hard to win.....period.

A good quarterback cures a lot of ills. But I have a feeling if you gave Reid (or several other coaches) some of the offensive talent the Steelers have had over the last decade (Ben, Bell, AB, etc.) they’d have more playoff success than Tomlin to show for it.

STD, simple question…are you happy with the last decade of this team’s overall performance under Mike Tomlin’s leadership? If you are, fine. I’m not! And I haven’t been on the FMTI bandwagon and I’m still not because I know that’s not going to happen. But even outside of his coaching failures his personnel failures, especially his failure to build a competent coaching staff, have really hamstrung this team and that’s why we’re seeing the crap show we’re seeing this year the underperformance we’ve seen over the last few years.

Then why didn't he get more talent??? You can't have it both ways.
You can't blame one coach for not drafting talent, and not the other. I'm not trying to fight about it....You are just not looking at it realistically.

I never said that, but I watch a lot (too much ) football, and I see how hard it is.
    I'm realistic.

Perhaps I should have highlighted the part I was responding to in your post. You wrote:

I don’t think I could be any clearer than what I already wrote other than to say I am damn thankful for what this team has given me the past 10-12 years.

It is hard and Tomlin had had his shot. 15 years is about the shelf life of a HC before his messaging grows stale. It’s time for him to get on with his life’s work as the greatest HC in Steeler history used to say. Noll’s time came. Cowher’s time came. Tomlin’s time has come. My concern is that he’ll continue to hold the reins and the team will continue to struggle.
