The Miami game was the first game in a very long time where they made noticeable adjustments during a game so maybe there is some hope.

Philly just has too much talent and depth so I expected that at least it wasn't a total blow out like 47 to 6.

The Steeler way before M Tomlin was the team is first and me second. Troublemakers and prime donnas were shown the door and then tomlin started coddling them . Now its horrible pathetic offense and bad defense that get paid a fortune. We are a shell of what we we’re under Cowher

    "The standard is the standard"
    -Mike Tomlin

The standard use to be playoff wins and Super Bowls, that was the Steeler way.

Sadly, it seems during the last 10 years, the acceptable standard is now a winning season and possibly a first rd loss in the playoffs which we won't even come close to this year.

It’s dead and gone! We are doomed! We will never be a competitor again. We’ve become the browns or lions.

I know right. The people that post this type stuff crack me up. If they really believe this nonsense why do they continue to support the team?

This x 100. I can't say yet he is a bust but I want to see better production and to give Warren more snaps.

If the Constant keeps hiring below average assistants this just might just happen.

The Steeler Way was running the football and stopping the run. Both they are horrible at.

The Steeler Way was not bumping the chest about a few winning seasons (8-8 is a zero).

Its winning playoff games and getting closer to the prize of a Lombardi.

This team as it stands is below average and it will not be a one year fix.

Its called eyes! The informed just want to see this team excel and get back to the promised land that has been in the rear view for some time. And I don't see it being a quick fix. Thank goodness that Weidl is on board.

This is why you see so many Fire Tomlin threads is because its time for a change. And I know if I read proper that your not necessarily a Tomlin guy.

Its a lost season as far as i'm concerned which is fine with me. They need to build this team up in the trenches first. Enough skilled players! And drafting in the 20's is not going to get it done. Better draft capital is paramount. They won't have to tank, they just aren't that talented.

So Glenn, lets hear your take?

It's simple, they want change and miss what we once were/used to be. Will it make a difference or change anything? No, but they have as much right to voice displeasure as those who complain about it. What cracks me up is people complaining about posts that no one is forcing them to read. JMO>

My take? Yes time for Tomlin to go. Has been for at least four or five years. I still think he’s a good coach I just don’t think he’s a good coach for the Steelers.
I don’t know if we’re in for a long drought or not. A good draft and some good free agent signings could turn things around quick.
My original point was that if people really believe ownership Is that Incompetent and doesn’t really care about winning championships. And they really believe we’re going to be terrible for years to come. Then why would you support a product you don’t believe it?
If I truly believed those things I’d walk away in a heartbeat.

I wouldn’t say the organization doesn’t want to win I just don’t think this Rooney is anywhere near as sharp as his predecessors. Allowing Tomlin to run this **** into the ground is exhibit A

With this year not sniffing playoffs, it will be 7 years without a postseason win and 4 of the 7 being out of the postseason all together. If I'm not mistaken, this is the longest playoff win drought for steelers in the SB era. So, in relative terms, I'd say its already a long drought.

And just my opinion Glenn, but to question other fans loyalty and why they still follow and root for the steelers but don't share your same rosy optimism is a bit narrow minded. Not everyone agrees with your point of view and that doesn't make them any less of a fan. Just sayin.

I’m not at all disputing that the team has major problems right now. The point I can’t seem to really get anyone to answer honestly is that if you truly believe that we are doomed or dark times ahead for many many years then at what point do you say enough is enough? My theory is that most of the people that are saying this stuff deep down really don’t believe it.

I mean come on if people really believe that ownership doesn’t care about winning championships or that they are content with becoming the Lions or the Browns. What person in their right mind would stick around and support that product?

Losing in the first round and looking out classed doing it is the new Steelers way. Soon to be a last place finish in the North for the next few years is the Steelers way. The team is light years away from a title
