Well, Najee isn't the third down back anymore, so I guess not .

If you watched him play in college, he wasn't a big play explosive RB, I'm sure they knew what they were getting in him.

    This is simply incorrect.

Again, the NFL is performance based. Performance goes above all else. Anything impeding that performance has shown to be cast aside. Do not believe me?!

Kliff and Kyler were supposed best buds. Look at them now. How about Mike McCarthy and Jerry Jones even?! Neither group is having much success; minimal gains at that.

As stated already, refer to Warren's snap counts, beginning with the Jets game. If Tomlin truly did favor Najee, Warren's play time should have been diminished greatly despite a very good preseason showing.

Being retired military, you don't become bud's with the CO or Dept Heads. In civilian management, it is also not a good idea for multiple reasons. Perceived favoritism of certain employee's (especially in awarding pay increases, job assignments, and promotions, etc), how about having female employees over a lot, that'll make the rumors fly and HR wanting to talk about it. Have to maintain complete neutrality amongst those you manage or risk losing respect and control in dealing with those who aren't the lucky ones coming over. I am sure there are lots of exception and maybe the NFL is one of them but to me, I just wouldn't think it's the best way of handling those who you are in charge of leading. JMO>

Never stated favoritism was a good idea good sir. All I am stating is that the perception that Najee gets special treatment from Tomlin is overblown. If he were, Jalen Warren should have received very little action.

Moreover to the point, Najee's regression still remains two fold. The Offensive Line getting it together will be a big factor moving forward. Najee needs to be the other.

Jones isn't facing a stacked box, it's a lot easier to run when the defense is spread out, and expecting a pass .

This is funny because I've seen him in person on a regular basis against top defense rip off runs well over 20-25 yards, I have seen him take crossing routes out of the backfield for huge gains. So I doubt you watched a video of highlights that only had runs with the longest being 10 yards. Harris was never billed as a home run hitter. He is a true 3 down back that can catch and pass block.

Line him up in the backfield and hand the ball to Jones all game long and see how that works out.

Dude You know this....don't let Your dislike for Najee make You loopy. That is the exact reason they use to run the wildcat(really should be called the wild Hog since We started & perfected it with Darren McFadden, and Felix Jones in Arkansas).

I have not heard this before but even if he is doing sleepovers and Mike and Najee are doing each other’s hair, it hasn’t hindered Tomlin from decreasing Najees work load as he has been losing playing time as well as work on passing downs.

As far as flat out benching him, that would have more to do with him being a first rd pick and only his second year than having to do with any time spent at Tomlins house.

I for one am glad the Steelers finally have two RBs on the roster that can produce and be on the field for any down. The Steelers need to improve their OL and coaching staff.

You are correct Tomlin has no say in who the Steelers draft. Which players they retain. Who they cut. If the offense doesn’t produce it’s the offensive coordinator that’s at fault. If the defense stinks it’s the defensive coordinators fault. In fact I don’t think Tomlin has ever done anything wrong. Ben never had a losing season (I mean Tomlin). Tomlin did win a Super Bowl. However it’s the players that turnover the football. Did I cover all the Tomlin excuses adequately?

May I remind our readers that Najee produced over 1200 yds from LOS last year, behind a horrible
line and this line is not much better. Only a matter of time and touches.

The fact Warren is getting more snaps means nothing to Because he has proven be be capable of doing what the Steelers wanted to do originally , and that is to reduce Najee’s work load.

Najee having over 1200 means little to this conversation because he had the second highest rush attempts of all RBs.

Najees slightly reduced workload this year is not evidence of Tomlin being purely professional in playing only the best performers. There was a previous plan to reduce his work load And he had a foot injury most of this year so yes, Warren gets more snaps including 3rd down where he can be trusted in pass protection.

My main question I guess is not really this year or even next, but if there is a back on the roster clearly better and outperforming Najee will Tomlin let said back be there feature back and Najee the backup especially during the crucial time of Najee’s rookie contract coming to an end and he’s wanting that big 2nd contract either here or in FA.

It’s a well known fact that personal relationships can/will/have affected professional relationships in negative ways, I just hope it doesn’t happen here and I really Hope Najee elevates his Game to All-Pro level!!

I wonder if Warren would be doing as well if not for Harris. AB was able to get all the attention giving JuJu a lot more catches than he would otherwise. Perhaps this is a similar situation, although both not on the field at the same time. JMO>
