Well, with a 2-4 record and a fairly poor outlook for the rest of the year, nobody can accuse you of being a bandwagon jumper, lol. I can’t say that I blame you after the Watson deal, which was the stupidest deal in the history of sports. Between the serial sexual assaulter, Watson, and the attempted murderer, Myles Garrett, I don’t blame you at all for bailing. Welcome to the B&G!
    :steelflag:

Of course, we’ll have to store you on the practice squad for awhile until you earn your stripes. ;)

By the way, what part of central WV are you in? I’ve lived in southern WV in times past and worked in central WV.

The biggest speed trap in WV, lol. I lived in Fayette County (Fayetteville) back in the day, not far from the New River Gorge Bridge. Beautiful country!

That’s cool…small world. For those on this board not familiar with the NRG Bridge, go to YouTube and search for Bridge Day BASE jumping. It is absolutely awesome but not something I’d ever try myself. Even though from time to time on this board I think some of my fellow fans have told me to go jump off a bridge, lol.

Why not? I would think that is a great gesture to enter Steeler fandom.

Your former team just has beaten this real team you are wanting to be a fan of a couple of times lately. if this were to continue, would you jump ship and go back?

So who’s going to tell him?

    Also, Browns should start Dobbs.

Cleveland is the second most hated team for me behind the girls. I have many relatives in Akron who have season tickets to the factory of sadness, and I love hearing the same things you're saying from them, but they are too committed to the Stains and mentally. JMO>

This sounds like a solid reason. I could never get behind a team I didn’t have some respect for.

You are picking a hell of a time to switch:) I wish you the best of luck in your endeavor!! I too have tried something similar to this. For 50 years I've lived in another sports territory. I could never give up Pittsburgh sports but tried to also be a fan of the sport teams in my area. Didn't work out well. They knew my original love was Pittsburgh so would get on me when Pittsburgh teams lost. No way I could root for their teams after that.

I know an exact situation like that in my family. I have a nephew who was born in Philly sport fandom area. We, his family, made him Pittsburgh fans. I've always told him he is not a Pittsburgh fan by birth. Actually forced upon him by us who were born and raised in the Burgh. He is finally seeing the light and rooting for a W.S. and a S.B. Championship. And it ain't the Pirates or Steelers.

I do believe what you are trying is next to impossible. I have friends in the Tampa Bay area and they tell me 50-60% of people who live in their area are fans of other teams but when Tampa Bay had that recent success (almost won 3 of 4 major Championships in our country) they celebrated but most admitted the feeling was not nearly as exciting if it was their main team.

I have met many Steeler fans who have never been to Pittsburgh. A lot of us left in the 70's and raised families around the country. That A-hole jag-off in Colorado who killed his wife and two little children were Steeler fans. There is a doc on Netflix with the actual footage of the terrible story. In the video they get dressed in Steeler gear and do the "here we go Steelers, here we go" chant. I was so pissed that jag-off ever wore the black and gold:(

Hell, Brown is no better than Watson. He was accused of raping one woman and assaulting others.

It will never work. Too much and too long of allegiance. Go back over to Browns board.

    Then we will talk...
