I can see why from a cap standpoint they would, can’t pay everyone but then you’d also be relying on Austin who is way behind in his development. Who knows what they have in him yet.

Green Bay makes a ton of sense, wouldn’t be surprised if there is any teeth to this.

If it's the right deal then I am all for it.

For starters, I always like to look at things from the players perspective. From Claypool's perspective it is time to move on. Whether you blame him or not things haven't exactly worked out in Pittsburgh. A fresh start and a chance to play with Rodgers is just what Claypool needs to jump start his career.

From the Steelers perspective, If you get a 3rd pick you have to do it. DJ got his contract, Pickens looks like the real deal. They are not going to pay Claypool when he becomes a FA anyway. It's best to get something for him now instead of nothing later.

Or you can look at it as we’ve got him under contract on a rookie deal through next season. Let him leave via free agency and take the compensatory draft pick.

Except Claypool isn't a FA this year. So Claypool would need to play out all of the 2022 and 2023 seasons. You wouldn't get the comp pick until the 2024 draft. Even then, there is ZERO chance you get a 3rd round comp pick for Claypool. The production isn't there to warrant that.

You could do the above, or take a 3rd rounder now, when you desperately need picks to use on other areas of need. If a team offers a 3rd, the Steelers should jump on it.

Probably the first post on a trade for him that makes sense. Have no idea of value, but GB has the picks. With his up and down play I think trade could benefit both teams.

I stick with Claypool, not ready to give up on him yet, i like his size, I believe he can still be a real endzone threat.

And, I believe Rodgers has a Boatload of pull...Don't know have that stuff works behind the scenes, but if Rodgers does have any kind of say or power...This could be a legitimate thing

That’s why I said Through next season. Not a fan of weakening a position of strength to maybe catch lightning in a bottle and improve via a draft pick

One game doesn't make the player. I have hopes that it will continue...

I’m not ready to give up on him yet. His rookie season I thought he was gonna be on the cover of Madden one day. He did have a good game last week. That being said, if we get something good out of the trade then I’m all for it. But I don’t want to see him go for something silly.

Seems like we only trade with the raiders when it comes to WRs.

Go ahead and trade Claypool and watch him become a major standout receiver for another team. In my eyes it better be a damn good deal.

For a trade with bush for a better really good starter to take bush spot, yes.

    For a second, yes

For a third, nope..... cause you have to think of comp pick. Not going to find as good of WR on the third. And I think we all rather have a 3 headed WR group of "pick your poison"..... while a 2 can help us get better at the line on both sides, RB, WR,

The problem with trading Claypool is that you are then one injury away from disaster if one of DJ or Pickens goes down with injury, which is entirely possible.

Boykin, Austin and Sims are not guys you want to be dependent on every snap.

Unless someone overpays I wouldnt be inclined to trade him. He is under contract until the end of 2023 and he is not a major cap liability. Trading him away for a fourth or fifth makes little sense to me, JMO

I would hate a trade, but business is business.
Green Bay does need a WR.

a 3rd is a little low, maybe... this would be an opportunity to see how they get the most out of GB should GB want a deal.

Personally I don't want him traded and I believe they wont.

But, if a 2nd and a 5th were on the table then you would have to take a hard look if they lose the next 2 games.

Pickens is going to be the #1. You have DJ. They seems to hit in drafting receivers. With two 2nd rounders an ILBer and an OLBer or SS can be had. Grab a WR in the 3rd. I feel they need a stud LT in the 1st. I also feel that Edmonds will be sticking around.

Just food for thought. Depends on where they are at the next two games.

I believe we have a talented and crowded WR room, I believe if Steelers
can get a player of need that will help our team I would pull the trigger There are only
so many balls to go around.
