Are there any current college/NFL coaches or coordinators who can replace our current coaching staff?

I'm looking at specifically Joe Brady at OC. Not that I'm a fan of him, but since he's a W&M guy on Buffalo's staff I can easily see Tomlin hiring him as OC. He has OC experience and helped groom Joe Burrow at LSU.

Somebody mentioned Sean Peyton earlier and I think he’d be a great HC if Tomlin were to call it a career after this season. That’s a very unlikely scenario but can you imagine what he could do with Pickett? I think Tomlin will be a drag on Pickett’s career but an offensive minded coach like Peyton could really benefit Pickett. That’s a pipe dream though because Tomlin is not going anywhere.

We are going to need better scouting and a better draft approach no matter who the Coach a specific draft plan is needed as we will be picking in the top for at least 2 or 3 drafts ..

I could see Tomlin retiring. Does he really want to take part in a rebuild?

We don't really follow scouting personnel, but I wonder if we lost some key people in this department in the past 5-10 years?

I think he might be excited to be able to work with a promising quarterback like Pickett.

    It’s a long shot, I know.

That's a good question it seems like it's not been as good lately ... We have a serious problem lately with DB'S and that is showing big time.. I would start with guys who know how to evaluate them and go from there..

No more Ben + complete overhaul of the scouting department after Colbert retired. I think he's excited to work with Pickett in a way, but not sure he wants to completely rebuild the defense and such. Especially with his own legacy practically cemented.

Pickett is his guy, he’s excited about getting him. He’s not going anywhere for a while yet.

And this is obviously why we promoted our DB coach to DC. :)

Oh I think he does. But he’d be better at the analyst desk with Cower and company than as a HC. He would get a huge payday after a year or two of that and then fail big time again in coaching.

Not sure about you guys but here in NYC I truly meet lots of fans from every team and for some reason they ALL think Tomlin is a top 5 or better NFL coach. They are casual followers of our team and don’t see the warts as clearly. It will all get exposed that having a HOF franchise QB did wonders for both Tomlin AND Cowers legacy. Neither was gonna get anything without him.

Let’s just hope Pickett tricks everyone into thinking Tomlin is as good as they are already mistaken. He’s mediocre.

I personally would be looking for someone young from the Shanahan coaching tree. I want someone who can scheme throws open consistently and manufactures a run game regardless of who the back is. Those are staples of that offense all the way back to Mike Shanahan...who learned under Bill Walsh. It's evolved of course...but that's the tree I shake.

I was hoping the Jet's would be a dumpster fire and the staff fired. I like their OC...and he's from the tree I like.

Why would he retire he has the most kush job in America. Hell he has half our fan base still convinced he is the next coming of Lambeau. Yesterday it showed he put 0 effort into a game plan or even attempting to win. Coach cool doesn’t give AF he’s collecting a paycheck.

Why would any top coordinator who’s already with a good team jump ship to our team for the same job unless there was a huge payday to do something and a college guy is just another gamble.

I don’t think as fans anyone can have the right intel to make this call unless you are in the NFL working day to day.

Now a jump from coordinator is a far easier thing for us to speculate.
