That's what I would expect from Mitch.
I've not known him to pout, he's usually pretty professional in approach.
He even took the drafting of Kenny Pickett in stride... knowing he had a 2-year deal and not a huge price.
I think his plans were to re-establish his career and move on to a good deal to another team as he knew Pittsburgh had an open opportunity.
But in all honesty, he failed.

Someone read that he is over it now, and that is what I really would expect from him.
We the press, should be forced to heed a cooling off period. So no one should be sticking a microphone in his face and saying:
"Nanana boo boo, are you mad because you got benched?"

If he is over it, I have no issue with keeping him.
If he is not, you and I would agree.
AND I totally forgot about his Captain designation... all the more reason.

All good. I’m just curious what he’s done to indicate he was pissed off or why his attitude is in question.

Here you go Mitch, maybe this will help you understand why your butt will be riding the pine: Your passer rating is 73.7 — 31st in the NFL. Your completion percentage is 59.5 — 28th in the NFL. Your 5.6 yards per attempt are dead last in the NFL. You weren’t using your athleticism to run very much (just 24 yards in four starts). The team’s 278.8 total yards per game average is 30th in the league, and their 18.5 points per contest are 25th.

So please don’t act like your benching is a complete shocker!

I should have said, "if" he is being a cancer. That's how I would handle it

    Agreed.
I 'think' (and hope) from what I've heard that it's a simple matter of someone sticking a mic in his face and of course he was disappointed. He gave some pretty terse, acrimonious remarks.
As I was reminded, he does wear that Captain patch.
Aside from that, we have clips on here and even a split frame video of virtually the same play, of him and Kenny and how he failed to make the read and Kenny made it the throw. Then statistically, he ranks among the worst.

I was actually asking a serious question. What’s your definition of inside? Does that mean you are part of the press?

At first I was like 'what?' But then I realized I didn't put much info in the introductions, just chose to keep it short.
But I've worked around the NFL for a long time.
Most of my time was with Washington. (Dan Snyder is complete trash)
I am retired. I like to spend time catching up on my favorite team.

It's Kenny time. He will have his highs and lows.

But when he entered the game it was like a breath of fresh air. And he showed he is ready for prime time.

The Warren play is the only negative for me.

Maybe trade Mitch and have Mason move to #2.

Why Tomlin named Mitch a captain is beyond me. And said he would be out there on the coin toss.

He answered a question. It’s really that simple. No matter what he said and how innocuous it might have been someone is going to spin it into bs.

Wish we could trade mitch but no one is going to touch that contract.

Mitch certainly didn't enhance his curb appeal on game film this year.
    His stats are dismal too.

The very end, he seemed a little peeved. I've seen this from a different angle and you definitely got that feel

I would vote for a rule that in that kind of situation, a benched QB does NOT need to be available to the media.
    Maybe Tuesday after the game.

I cannot defend his performance, video and stats don't support him.
I can defend his character; he has been a Pro from day 1.

    Moving on...
He does wear the Captain tag on his uniform.
He is #2 now. (Mason, wow... I'll bet he's hoping someone needs a QB and will trade for him)
I think from his experience, he probably sees the defense and has inputs
    *Those who cannot do, teach.

Agreed. His face on the sideline looked mad as well.

I'm holding my judgements. But i hope I don't see him standing up walking around like he's waiting on Tomlin to put him back in. Or have him not helping Kenny in practice or not helping him when the defense is out there.... because this is a team effort to get a ring.

Barney 5 could be the QB for all I care. If we get a ring that's what I want. But anyone who turns into what Brown turned into, locker from cancer, not helping each other, etc etc they can all go play in the road and eat rocks.

Captains are chosen by the players. Not Tomlin

Not really....the way he said it...short and matter of fact....along with his body language and the "looking for a spark, there you go..." quote....definitely gives you the 'he's pissed off vibe.'

He has every right to be pissed whether its at himself or tomlin or both. He could have parlayed this year into a nice pay day, but now he'll probably be a career backup. All in all it was pretty reserved. Id rather have rudolph as the backup, but doubt that'll happen.

I cant think back to who was available, but a recent article i believe on steelersnation that kenny is plan b and we're on to plan b way sooner than they anticipated because plan A didnt work which was mitch + a top D. Makes sense because nobody thought kenny would drop into our lap.

What other team besides maybe the niners which fixed itself via injury has not 1 but 2 qbs who probably hate their situation.

Don't forget about Haskins. This FO is just not a good evaluator of QB talent. Hell, we've had 4 first round QBs on the roster (lynch, Haskins, Trubisky, Pickett) the past 4 years and 3 have not panned out and the time will tell with the 4th. Not to mention the other recent draft picks wasted on bad QB picks like Dobbs and Rudolph. FO hit a homerun with Ben and has struck out ever since.

I did forget about haskins. Good pickup. I thought he had potential and liked the move, but was probably wrong like i was with mitch. My red i mean commanders friends didnt hold him in high regards in terms of qb ability.

He was asked a question that the reporter already knew the answer to. Reporter- do you think it was production or a spark?
Trubisky- you would have to ask coach
Reporter- he said it was a spark
    Trubisky- there you go

body language? You only see his knock and head
