Remember what happened when we drafted Pickett? Cameron Heyward, our longest tenured player, a team captain, leader of the defense and one of our best players made the team put Kenny's locker next to his.

The players always knew what it was and that Kenny was going to be the man. Which makes the decision to give Trubisky no competition in training camp and preseason even more baffling.

Everyone needs to chill it's his first game and one he was thrown into at the 2nd half.

Give the guy a season before accurately assessing him.

Also don't forget how many QBs come out their rookie year hell blazen. I don't even think the coveted Tevor Lawrence did that.

So everyone needs to chill he'll be fine unless Yintzers boo and destroy him early.

No. I'm really not. Watch it again. There was only one defender on Claypool on the play. Whitehead was a deep safety who came over too late to make a play on the pass, which actually put him in perfect position for the deflection after Claypool let it bounce off his hands.

You never prove me wrong and some nobody from New Jersey labeling the pass as ill-advised does not constitute proof here.

Whether or not it was ill-advised is subjective. The problem with your point of view is you are basing it on factually inaccurate information. You keep claiming that the ball was thrown into triple coverage when it was not. There was only one defender on Claypool there. The video backs me up on this.

I think it is a good thing that a quarterback will give his 6-foot-4 receiver a chance when he is one-on-one with a 5-8 safety. Apparently, you want somebody taking a more gutless approach like Trubisky so far this season. You are entitled to that opinion no matter how foolish it might be, but you are not entitled to make up your own facts to back it up.

You were wrong on the other thread, too. McPherson had one kick blocked and missed the other. I'm sorry you are so upset by having your mistakes pointed out that you resort to lame name-calling and false accusations.

That 1st interception is 100% on Claypool. He's the softest, big player I've ever seen. Complete disappointment. Should really try to trade him before everyone else figures that out. Gunner needs to GTFO, too. Hopefully CA3 is healthy soon and we can roll with DJ, Pickens, Boykin, CA3, and Sims.

Please find the post in which I disputed that. I simply pointed out that it was a block, not a miss. Adding lame insults to your posts does not make them any less inaccurate.

Back to the original topic, watch the video of the first interception again. It was a zone. Claypool cut across where one safety was standing to the area with the second one. It wasn't double coverage. It certainly wasn't triple coverage, as you falsely claimed many times. There wasn't even a third defender anywhere near the play.

I doubt they can get much for Claypool at this point. He is doing nothing.

Olszewski has been a disaster. Sims should be playing ahead of him. They should probably cut the guy.

All that said, I don't think the first interception is entirely Claypool's fault. Pickett could have made a better throw. If he leads Claypool instead of throwing it behind him, it is an easier catch, possibly even a touchdown. That said, Claypool definitely should be able to beat a 5-8 safety to catch a ball like that.

    This….. Let them Grow together!!!!

I even like to see Cody White get some reps. I liked Gunner BUT two fumbles on STs in a few games should be enough to let Sims be our ST Starter!!!

Listen to Tomlin's press conference. Even with the turnovers, he's clearly a very big Pickett fan. Unless Tomlin is gone, Pickett is going to get a very long leash that will last at least through 2023.
