Tomlin didn't call the timeouts. When there's an injury with a running clock, it's an automatic timeout for the team with the injured player

Edmunds is bad, but they clearly missed him in the fourth quarter. They have taken way too many hits in the secondary.

Not sour grapes at all. Once again the offense’s woes weren’t solely on Mitch. 5 penalties on the line in the first half ring a bell with you? I want the team to win. You and your brethren claim to want that, but then turn around after a 3 interception game by the one you’ve anointed and make excuses for him. Then claim to be okay with losing. After years of listening to y’all ***** and moan incessantly after every loss? No effing way

Do you understand context? Pickett did some good things and he did some rookie things. We all need to hope he learns from his mistakes and gets better. Mediocre Mitch is a six year vet and is about as exciting as watching paint dry. Pickett provided a spark and gave the team a 10 point lead heading into the 4th quarter. Mitch would have continued to trudge along with his three and outs and check downs and we’d have lost by double digits.

So basically the adage if you can’t dazzle them with brilliance baffle them with bullsit applies.

Nope, not all Trubiskys fault, never claimed it was. Like why couldn’t they run plays for Mitch to run it into the endzone, he’s more athletic than Pickett. However he clearly doesn’t have what it takes to be an NFL QB and if you cant see that, thats a you problem.

The fact that you mention 3 interceptions, one of which was a hailmary and the other two tipped passes proves it is indeed sour grapes for you.

And are you really lumping me in with the ***** and moan crowd? Strummer, I do better with middle of the road people, I dislike extreme on either side, all complaining all the time or all rah rah the team can do no wrong and defend them at every turn. You fall into the later camp. They don’t pay you to be a cheerleader, it’s ok to question the things they do.

Tomlin keeping Pickett off the field was dumb. It was dumb the way he brought him in today, should have been giving him starter reps and ten days to prepare for his first start.

Tomlin nor any other coach is above reproach, stop acting like they are.

Trubisky ran the exact same play for a touchdown last week. See you are making excuses for him. Neither of those two should have been thrown. You call me a cheerleader, but you keep missing the point. Y’all make claims that you have absolutely no evidence to support. We actually had a report that trubisky was outplaying Pickett in practice. Maybe I’m just old school, but if you want to start you have to beat the man in front of you.y’all just chose to ignore it. You made another claim without any evidence in your last post. We don’t know who got first team reps over the last 10 days. It may have been only Mitch or it may have been both of them the fact remains we don’t know. I say that, but have to admit I didn’t watch the post game. If it did come up in the post game my apologies.

Tomlin botched this, I don’t care about practice. Obviously by playing Pickett today its been in Tomlins mind about making the switch. You don’t think we’d have heard about Picket getting first team reps? Pickett said he had no idea that playing today was a possibility.

I posted in another thread an article about how Graham won the starting job over Stewart because he had a better grasp of Gilbrides run and shoot offense and was practicing better than Stewart. Graham? Really? What an absolute stupid decision by Cowher. All the players new who should be starting just like the players here new Pickett should be starting. You can be the best practice QB in the world but if you can’t apply that when the games count it doesn’t mean a thing.

Trubisky is not a good QB, doesnt matter if we know Pickett is better or not but why not put him in and find out. Now we are going to.

I wish tomlin waited till after the next four games to start Kenny because they look bleak but heck burrow was thrown to the wolves year one and look what happened year two. Just need to see flashes of brilliance with the flashes of bad. We saw both today so I am fine with it. The d is not as good as we pay them and should have been able to win this game.

well you got your first taste and it was 3 interceptions. You can deny it all you want, but two of them were terrible decisions and should never have been thrown.

you make it sound as if knowing or not knowing the playbook is some minor detail. Seriously dude come on. If trubisky had thrown three interceptions you would be leading the torch and pitchfork crowd. Instead you’re making excuse for Kenny p.

This is exactly why I want him in there, hows he going to learn these things sitting on the bench? You need real game experience.

And while they were rookie mistakes, the ball hit the receivers in the hands. If thats Trubiksy or Ben I’m not as hard on them either when the ball is tipped for an interception. Both of those could have been caught or just as likely fell to the ground incomplete. I’d be more concerned if he had miscommunications with his receivers or threw directly to a defender for a pick.

I don’t understand why you are ok with losing with Trubisky who has no future here but giving the rookie a hard time for losing.

I’m totally fine with growing pains because what I saw today gives them a chance. Learn on the job, best way. If Trubisky was playing good football you wouldn’t have heard a peep out of me.

Edit* I don’t give a **** about a Hail Mary interception. Good grief man.

Im not okay with losing at all. It makes no difference whether it’s trubisky, mason, or Pickett. I’m just not going to try and polish a turd. He made two terrible decisions and it cost us. You’re giving him a pass on it. We had that game wrapped up. Play smart, run the clock down, and at worst we are kicking a field goal to put us back up by 7. Hopefully. Boz is pretty clutch, but he does miss on occasion.

Are people really still giving Kenny Pickett grief for this?! If anything, this befalls on Tomlin for not getting Pickett ready despite having three examples shown to him that Trubisky is not it. For that matter, while Kenny will no doubt go through growing pains, such a phenomenon is not new to him as he has gotten better each time.

We all saw thar in the Preseason after failing to score against the Seahawks; only to have the walk off TD to Tyler Vaughns. He showcased this again against Jacksonville, against starters, during the two minute drill. The natural ability to not just learn from mistakes but build off of the successes of them is not the issue here with Kenny; experience is.

Yes, the Regular Season is indeed a much different beast than the Preseason. Yes, Kenny did have just as many downs as he did ups. However, Kenny did gain one valuable asset; Live NFL Experience during the Regular Season.

How much he can not just learn but absorb to adapt to better himself will be something to watch. However, given all that I have seen, I see no reason he cannot. The rest of the team though is in need of a serious overhaul; his blindside doubly so.

Dan Moore is a swing tackle. Nabbing a Franchise Left Tackle is something that has long been in the making for this Franchise; a Franchise that has not selected one in 26 seasons in Jamain Stephens.

He saw the likely outcome with Trubisky doing so little right on offense. The big mistake Tomlin made was not making the switch to start the game. I say that because if he was going to have that quick of a hook, he might as well have started the rookie.

I agree that left tackle is the biggest need. They are also going to have to address the secondary. That said, the defense we saw today isn't the one the Steelers built for this season. By the end of the game, they were missing two of their top three cornerbacks (Sutton and Witherspoon), their strong safety, a playmaking nickelback (Kazee), and the best defensive player in the NFL. Witherspoon was playing poorly and I'm certainly no fan of Edmunds, but injuries have made a complete mess of that secondary.

You're the one saying people are giving him a pass while you are giving Trubisky a pass by throwing the offensive line under the bus, which they deserve. However Pickett had to play behind the same group, and he actually made some nice reads and nice throws. It wasn't a perfect debut; it wasn't even close. But I can't understand what you saw out of Trubisky in the first half that made you believe that the wrong decision was to pull him in favor of Pickett. He helped the team get the lead and the defense sh!t to bed, period.
