he’s a rookie and much better to play him than Trub.

 

umm.. did y'all forget how Ben's career started? 2 tds, 2 ints and a L.. a hail mary int and a weak effort by the WR int. yes, the costly INT was a bad throw... but it's not like he was throwing it directly into the hands of defenders he couldn't see. that was the most excitement we've had in a month.

No. I didn’t forget, but apparently you did. The Steelers were down 21-0 when Ben came into the game.

 

I know the stats don't look good but I don't care - Pickett looked great and this loss isn't on him whatsoever.

The 1st 2 picks are clearly on the receivers. Simply drops, no other way to put it, even if the 2nd one was more difficult.
The hail mary doesn't count.
I don't think he threw an incompletion, every ball was caught by us or them!

 

Pickett is decisive, athletic and deadly accurate. He missed one throw the whole game, just a drop high, that unfortunately bounced to a Jet. Kid is tough and confident and cool under pressure. All of the things you could want in a QB.

 

So…none of his passes hit the ground, there is that.

 

I'd rather they lose by going down swinging than lose by playing it safe with 3 yard check downs on 3rd and 8.
At least theres a chance to learn and grow from his mistakes.

 

oh, i remember.. you can also say the ravens were playing soft defense for much of the second half to protect that huge score against a rookie qb making his debut. not worth arguing about.. both QBs came in, gave their teams a spark, but ultimately lost. one game does not make a career.

 

Pickett playing defense? Last I looked the defense gave up the winning td with 16 seconds left.....#gurutomlin

I'd rather have a confident and fearless player who will learn from his mistakes rather than protecting the ball and playing it safe....and still losing.
