He didn't lose it by himself, but his inability to field that punt handed the Patriots a score in a three-point game. He has to secure the ball. That is his primary job and he's not doing it.

It's called a combat catch, something that Claypool with his size should be good at. At the very least, he could have knocked the ball away. No matter what, neither the QB nor the WR are blameless here.

 

I wont debate that. But the level of adrenalin..a rookie coming in with no real prep. Claypool has to show more effort in helping. Might still be an int..but the awareness has to be there to do everything to catch..or prevent them from catching.
