    I watched this a week or so ago and it was such a great interview. One of my big take aways was when he was talking about Chuck Noll wanting all the players on defense to understand what every other players role was and then it continued under Coach Cowher to the point where they are having tests on Fridays to prove they knew the blitzes, the coverages, that they understood all aspects of the defense. We have talked about why the 3-4 zone blitz was so successful and why it was considered complex and how QB's were able to pick it apart lately. Very easy to find that weak spot as opposed to being a defensive player who understands everything they are asking you to know. I don't think that level of understanding is close to what it was under Noll and Cowher. That's not a slam on Tomlin as much as it is the shift we are seeing in football overall.

    Same with the Patriots. They had veterans in that system that knew everyone else assignment. They haven't been close to what they once were with Bruschi and company...cheating helped, but they all had to know what the cheat was.

    Lloyd = badass

    He was born 20 years too early. So was Kordell Stewart.

    Imagine Watt AND Lloyd at OLB in their primes...opposing NFL offenses would post negative yardage.

    Do you really think Canada could make Stewart better than he was? A part of me thinks Stewart would have made Canada better than he is, but it didn't work for Ray Sherman, so I doubt it.

    Why did this all of a sudden become a topic about the current OC?

    Trubisky and Canada...the whipping posts. The scapegoats. Newsflash....the entire team is flawed without their best player....Trent Jordan Watt. He makes the Steelers WIN.

    The Steelers have had some great linebackers but that group that played with Lloyd was maybe the most fun to watch.
    Lloyd, Brown, Kirkland and Greene were unreal as individuals and as a group.
    I think it was the best Linebacker group the Steelers ever had. The only downside was not having Greene sooner.

    I’ll tell you one thing no line is stopping both loyd AND watt from rushing the qb

    If ya had to pick.....Lloyd or Harrison both in their prime...I'm taking Lloyd, I actually think he may have been meaner and more intense than James

    Never. I loved Lloyd, and still have His worn out Jersey, but He never got close to winning a DPOY. Also He still has one of the greatest plays in SB history. Lloyd has none of this

    I hear ya....The play in the Super bowl was one of the best ever for sure...James owns the stats ,but he played quite a bit longer..But I think early,mid 90's Lloyd did everything .
    He was a mean dude!!--But James was too...
