Man I just watched A Football Life about Woodson on NFL network....Stirred up alot of old memories for sure...What a great football player he was!! I remember being crushed when he tore his knee up trying to tackle Barry Sanders ...Can't believe we let him walk away....We thought his career was on the downside, and back then we just didn't pay everyone......He went on to be one of the all time greats to ever play the game..Wish it all could have been in Pittsburgh

IIRC, the major snag in the Woodson negotiations were that the Steelers wanted him to move to safety and he wanted to continue to play CB. Then he signs with the Niners and then the Ravens and Raiders where he ultimately wound up playing, guess what, safety.

Very debatable. He played 9 years plus essentially 1 game for the Steelers with 38 Int's. SF, Rats and Oakland he played 7 more years and had 33 Int's. In 2002 he had 8 Int's for Oakland for 225 yards and 2 TD's.

Glad he was a Steeler. Mad as hell when he left. Never really cheered for him at all as a Raven or with the other two teams for that matter. Glad he went into the HOF as a Steeler. We should have broke the bank for him.

I was a huge fan, but I burned His AFC Pro bowl jersey when He went to the Ravens, and I hate to say it , but I cheered when Hines Ward knocked His a$$ out. I know....it was tasteless of Me.

Think he actually played safety at the end in Baltimore too....just a great intelligent football player....That early-mid 90's defense was bad ass

He was coming off major injury

Risk return for signing him was not a good business decision based on the information available

He beat the receivers odds and now hind sight is easy

Like I said though. He only played two more years as a CB. One for 49ers, and one for Ravens....all the rest were safety. So really the Steelers were correct by trying to move Him to safety. History shows so.

    This.

I fail to see why people still harbor bad feelings for him. He'll, I would have even understood Troy's decision had those rumors been true in 2015 and he played for the Titans. Now, Titans and Ravens are an Apples to Kiwi comp. but my point was Rod Woodson did what was in the best interests of him.

Besides, any way a player of his caliber intends to win a ring... after all they have done. I would say let em. For comparison, Von Miller has won Super Bowls with both the Rams and Broncos. Do people really believe that Broncos fans will despise him for all eternity due to that?!

    I seriously doubt it.
