I think that's been kind of the theme the past couple of years. yes, we had some good/close victories against Bills and Bengals, but seem like every game is close or get blown away. Last season, I was expecting a big victory against the Seahawks without Wilson, but barely found a way to win that game.
why play some good football against good teams but seem to take a step back against teams of less quality. I just don't understand this team no, no identity...

They could spot the Steelers 24 points before kick off and MT would have us biting our nails to the very end.

I think it's very much simply the construct of the league in general, especially now that veterans across the board get little to no reps during the preseason. Teams during the 1st Q of the season are just rusty, therefore it's easier for bottom rung teams to catch an upset. But as the season goes, games will mostly always be competitive with the better teams winning more often than not. The leagued is practically constructed for parity.

I mean.... the NFL is set up as it is now due to this three syllable word.

    Parity.

This affects every NFL Team, no matter who they are. Pittsburgh is no different. For that matter, see Kansas City, Las Vegas and... whatever the hell Denver is right now.

Could you imagine in the NFL was set up like the MLB. Teams with the richest owners would be stacked.

Not completely true. I say this because due to the NFL's tv deal being equally distributed teams like the Steelers have a far better chance of spending money. Since the dawn of the salary cap, the Steelers have routinely had to cut players or make their salary bonus money to get under the cap. Even with the Steelers having money to spend, in the past ten years the Steelers at one point or another had the highest paid WR, S and LB in all of football. Steelers are willing to spend $$$, unlike their northshore neighbors.

There seems to be some confusion, once again.
Cowher was something like 100-1-1 with a 10+ point lead.

    Parity.
You know something is weird when QB's like Daniel Jones, Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa are looking like super star stud QB's.
Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes are not leading their teams to a perfect record, imagine that.

We even saw some guy named Rush impersonating Aikman, lead the Cowboys to an upset over the Giants.

It's only 3 games and teams are rusty but it is the futility I see in the Steelers losses.
They aren't as bad as, say the Titans (-33 Diff). The Raiders are particularly bad.
At least with Pittsburgh, if the offense could start clicking better, things would at least look a little better.
If they were down by 1, ball on their own 20, you could at least have some hope for a FG to win.

    Are 15-2 teams possible?
I would hate to think a bunch of 9-8 teams will be in the playoffs.

Parity smarity. Lets stay on the Steelers. With a swiss cheese run defense, leaky secondary and very little pass rush ect, an offense that needs its spark plugs replaced and in need of an NFL offensive signal caller I don't look at other teams and say well, it's parity to make myself feel better.

We could be 0-3. But we got that one win with lady luck going all in.

Now we wonder if the jets game is a must win?

The team is just not that good at this point unfortunately.

Especially with the Bus back there. Teams knew what was coming and simply couldn't stop it.

Jerome Bettis was like the Marino Riveria of the NFL.

The guy was like the ultimate closer in the 4th quarter.

Same. As a kid I was a huge Pirates, and Cubs fan. The older I got , the more Baseball changed, or didn't change enough in the right places , and the the less I cared.
