Did we get screwed?

During the Browns game, there was a play where the Browns had 12 men on the field, the refs blew it dead stopping us from getting a free play, my father started yelling saying that we should have a had a free deep shot, I told him I thought so but maybe they changed the rule and I wasn’t aware. Now watching the Bucs and packers and Aaron Rogers just had an interception called back because there was a flag for too many men on the field. Is there something different that has to happen for a free shot?

 

According to the explanation in the game, if the 12 men are in formation, play is called dead and whistle blows.

but, if the 12th person is running off the field or moving around, the play continues.

so, I guess it’s about whether 12 are in formation or not.

 

They changed the rule a couple of years ago. If 12 men are in formation and the snap is imminent it is a dead ball foul.

What bothered me about that play is I think time ran off the clock running that play that wasn't put back on. I may be wrong, I didn't hear the announcers address it. If that was the case the Browns then benefited from having 12 men on the field.

Usually those busts are a bust. They look nothing like the individual and sometimes creepy. You would think they would have a better system.

 

Yeah, like taking a 3D image of the person and letting the machine create. Or, one of these street artist out there. Because, whoever is doing them now ... sucks!

Have you ever seen them live at HOF? I was actually impressed with them. I won't say why I know here, but I've seen them do the measurements to get the head contours correct and it's a pretty meticulous process.

I was going to say, there are some in Canton that are scary realistic.

 

It may just simply be that if the 12th guy is running off the field he might make it depending on the snap. So no point blowing dead a play that might be legal.
