Im the same way with Rush. I loved them as a kid. Now I’m like they’re good at what they do, I just don’t like what they do. Although, it must be said the members of Rush were better musicians.

the doors are an odd one for me. I’m a firm believer that the best bands have great rhythm sections. As we all know that consists of a great drummer and bass player. Then we have the doors that didn’t have a bass player at all. Quite the conundrum for me

The Doors are awesome despite not having a bass player, and that's just fine. While there is definitely lots of useless crap out there, I'm not big on using "rules" to decide what sounds good. I'd be missing out on some great music if I did that. I'm also always amazed at how well recorded The Doors albums are. I almost feel like I'm listening to them play in the room rather than listening to a recording.

JMO, but I will give You a list of why's for Me.
    1. They beat You over the head with song titles.....half way through a song I'm like .....Yes ....I get it ....Your ...TNT, Back in Black, Hells Bells, and so on ,and so forth.
    2. They play in a root of 3 different keys.
    3. I could hum the lead before I've ever heard it....because it's basically the same from song to song. So it let's Me know it's really not part of the song....He just does it to do it.
    4. This list could go on , and on , about scale, chord changes, and more , but I leave it with.....they bore Me the same way a rap album does...it's Banal.
Now.....My friend You like what You like.....that's America....,and more power to You.....Lots of people love them.

Yes, and So is Michael Jackson, and countless rap guys.....but they would be broke MF....if they depended on My ticket sales, or buying of their product.
What's the saying.....You will never go broke appealing to the lowest common denominator. LoL....

    Exactly
It's a product a brand name Fly on the wall was the last album i bought by them.
Saw them live god at least 15 times
I met the band in 78 and again during Maximum Overdrive. Great chaps and a lot of fun.
I'm not tuning them out. I refuse to deny myself music of any genre or era

    I don't.....No biggie.

I completely understand. I hear music all the time well a lot. Probably, One reason i abuse this thread so i apologize. Some days it simply starts out with the way my coffee is stirred and it sounded like a song or some stupid crap like that. Then it's a dive into it and branches from there.
Doesn't help when i watch Never Mind the Buzzcocks

True, but they did use a bass player in the studio.
