People as much as we love our Steelers, this season is pretty much over. Without Ben we are going nowhere. Even when Ben is playing we are barely winning, and im so sick of seeing other teams blow out there competition. I could be wrong, but I kept telling myself through the 80's things will get better, but look at what happen there. I just have this feeling, and every time I feel this way we don't do good at all. It's like a six sense ive have about football. Heck I had a bad feeling about our last superbowl, something just kept telling me we are not going to pull this off.

No matter what happens I will allways be a steelers :)

A win by 1 and a win by 50 are the same. Ask the Ravens.

That said, it is PAINFULLY clear that we go as far as Ben takes us.

I Read a tweet earlier where a BROWN'S player said the STEELERS did not come prepaired. I dont care what the team says' i truely believe that the Steelers overlook some teams..

Boy are you opening yourself up for a huge bashing....

First of all, this team compared to the team of the 80's??? Are you serious? This team has been decimated by injuries. Before we lost Ben, weren't we on a four game win streak? We beat the defending SB champs in New York. Without Ben, I dont have any expectations but we sure as hell arent out of it with him in the game.

The last Super Bowl...well the Packers had an amazing offense. We didnt play well and we lost. However, that was our THIRD appearance in what six years?

I think you are hanging up the towel WAY too early.

Agreed. This team is NOTHING like the mediocrity of the 80s. Nothing at all. I do agree with the person who posted that this team tends to "overlook" certain teams - and yep - I think as much as they publicly said they wouldn't do that with the Clowns - they did. You don't fumble the ball 7 times if you've been mentally preparing for a war. It just doesn't happen. The offense, at least, did not prepare to win this game and that's a shame.

That said - it is FAR too early to hang up the towel. I like the tenacity that this team has shown - and if they can scratch and claw their way into the playoffs anything can happen. I start every season by telling my son that we shouldn't talk about Super Bowls before Super Bowl week. The goals are - 1. Playoffs 2. Division title. 3. Bye week 4. Top seed. There will be 6 playoff teams from the AFC. If the Steelers are one of them, they have a chance to go further. Each week is a new week then. We're still in the hunt, but to paraphrase Pimply Dan - "We need to start wining some games. We can no loose any more games!"

I think it is laughable to think that a professional team would overlook an opponent... especially since we were playing with our 3rd string QB.

I agree with you...but you have to admit there are times it certainly looks that way. Having our third string QB doesnt make the ball pop out of EVERY single RBs hands.

Maybe not so much overlooking opponents as much as playing down to them?

Ok were nothing like the crappy 80's team. But it still doesn't change that fact without Ben we are doomed. Like I said before even with Ben WE ARE BARELY WINNING. Even with our wins this season I felt like we just squeaked by our opponent. I guess loosing the way we did just got me in a bad posting mood. I'll be fine, lol. It could be back in 1994-1995 loosing to SD or even worse the dreaded superbowl 30.

    Go Steelers :)

Its okay...I have been pissed all day about the way we "played". Its very frustrating to just not show up. Losing to SD in 1994 was one of the worst ever, but , losing to Tebow last year?? The WORST.

I was so incredibly irritated by the end of yesterday's game that the old man even looked over at me piddling around with Christmas decorations and said something about how I was barely watching. He knows it's really bad when I can't even yell at the tv anymore and just go on about things like the game's not even on! We all need a place to rant so we can get it out of our system and suck it up for the next week. Go Steelers!

So do professional RBs fumble because they are overlooking an opponent? No.

Thw Browns were the better team yesterday regardless of their record.

Even READING that part about the browns hurts me... BAD! I'm SUPER mad about this loss. Losses suck. Losses to teams you despise REALLY suck! Hearing fantasy fans that don't even WATCH football much less have a CLUE about our beloved Steelers tell me how good of a player Mike Worthless is is almost more than I can bare! That's why I hate losing games like this. THIS is why we get so mad at our team. We KNOW they are better than this. THAT is what sucks SOOO BAD! But dang Chab that HURT to read that. I know it also must have hurt you to type it too.

In truth yesterdays game went to the team that "Wanted it more". The Pittsburgh Steelers wanted the lose more than the Browns did. The Browns tried and tried to give the game away, but were outdone at every turn by the Steelers.

The Browns are not as bad as their record suggests. Their main weakness is the QB position, and has been for a while, because they can't seem to stick with one and nurture the talent. They've come close in a few games this season. I've been saying this as far back as Week 1.

That said, we still SHOULD have beaten them, with or without Ben; I think 11 people from row 9 in the stands could have suited up against us and still would have won the way we playing.

Barely winning? Barely winning is a way of life for a Steeler fan. From preseason to regular season to playoffs to the Superbowl.

The fat lady might be humming but its far from over. Remember, the Giants were 9-7 last year.
