There's a whole lot of Tomlin bashing going on with no one offering up names to replace him. Here's your chance. Speak now or forever hold your peace.

If Tomlin were to unexpectedly step down today I honestly believe Rooney would hire Brian Flores as the head coach. Whoever succeeds Tomlin, I hope it’s more of an offensive minded coach.

my hate stems from his philosophy to keep games close and win them in the 4th, horrific time management, and crumbling in playoff games

Tomlin isn't going anywhere for at least 3 seasons, but if he were to "retire" the Steelers would hire a 30s something coach as has been their tradition since 1969.

I like the guy too. But he isn't delivering. And hasn't for a long time. Barely above .500 and .500 seasons don't cut it. Late season collapses don't cut it. Winning hardly any playoff games doesn't cut it.

We're the Steelers. We measure success by Championships, or at least deep runs. Getting excited about making a wildcard??? That's chump stuff for, say, Browns fans.

My only problem with Tomlin is that he is a little too quick to promote the next coach up. (His Next Man Up philosophy does not work for his staff)

    You mean Brian Florist.
    In line with Chuck Knoll
    Bill Cowers
    Mike Tomlinson.

Have you ever compared him to the 32 coaches every year and their track record?

Good grief if y'all get your way, we're in for a greater chance of sucking. Y'all really don't know what we have....There will be losing seasons every few years. You can bet on that.

So you target fire the guy and go with the other coaches in this league who lose a season every few years or worse?

I have offered up replacements, MTomlin will leave on his own terms. He just happens to work for the most patient owners in
    all of professional sports.

Somewhere out there is a young assistant who is qualified. I don't have names. I don't pay that much attention to other teams. I do pay attention to this team.

Unfortunately for most of us Steeler Fans the team is measured by playoff success and Championships. Something we haven't seen in quite some time. In where other coaches have.

Its not like we haven't had the talent, a franchise QB in those times.

Some defend the coaching ad nauseam. It's the players. Why have coaches then?

I don't hate Tomlin but I do believe he has faded. But but the winning seasons, you spoiled Steeler Fan. That's right, spoiled! Not so much lately. I don't look at the the last eleven years with glee. Sorry that's just me.

So funny to see a thread stopping the Tomlin hate and then right under it Tomlin's replacements.

He undoubtedly made that thread because of this one. I'm neither a Tomlin hater or a Tomlin apologist. If some people want him gone so bad, I want to see them show their work. So far, not many have.

    What does this even mean?

What are your parameters in this scenario?, does the coaches current contract tie into it? Do they have to be living and if not does a computer generated AI count, etc...

Not much to work with here, so best coach available made the most sense.

it takes more than a franchise qb. Let’s not forget that franchise qb hardly played like a franchise qb the last few years. Additionally some of those playoff losses y’all keep pointing to fall directly on that qb’s shoulders. There were years were we had a solid borderline great offense, but a suspect defense. It takes a whole team not just 11 guys or a franchise qb.

I like Mike Tomlin, but lets not act like there are no other coaches out there who could be successful. Who knew of mcvay or other young coaches throughout the league.

I'm not calling for a change by any means, but when the time comes I do trust that they will find an appropriate replacement.

I only compare him against coaches that win playoff games and SBs. I have high standards for what a Steelers HC should achieve.
