I almost chucked my phone across the room when I read that. Here’s another gem….

Mitch Trubisky on being able to audible: "It's still early in the offense and we're still figuring out when is a good time for me to audible and if within each play I have the option to do so."

    Still figuring it out?? WTF?

This is beyond absurd. Is anyone in charge of the team?

They brought Jim Hermann (who was a DC with the Jets a few years ago) in to help them game plan for the Patriots. I wouldn't object if they brought Haley on as a consultant.

Well I seen Muth, and DJ hollering at Trubisky, and Muth wasn't talking about a play call....He was talking about where to throw the ball.

    Because ....
    1. We are seeing people open....Trubisky is not...
    2. This team can't be compared to last year....the line is not even close to the same, and We have more weapons.
Nobody is saying Canada's system is great....it's not, but with the pass protection they are now getting, and Guys running open....a little better Qb will make it seem way better.

I think Trubisky is handing it off on most of the RPOs, if not all. I think they are being called. One of the runs everybody is pointing to as an example of Harris's poor vision, but it looks like Trubisky could have kept the ball and run a bootleg to the right with plenty of room and Cole as an escort.

looked at Canada's resume. He was a qB coach and OC in college without having too much success. Then get QB job with zero nfl experience and now has butchered the steelers offense for all of last year and the first two games. We need the character from Dr. Suess movie to start saying to Matt C. YOUR FIRED>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

I also believe this. There is No question.....Trubisky is playing scared, and He rather let someone else do the work.....because He doesn't want to mess it up, but a Qb can't be that way. I would almost (keyword almost) bet You that pick in the middle of the field was a result of them showing Him people were open there, and being the Qb He is...
He went directly there without seeing the coverage. He has always locked onto His targets, and not seen the rest of the field.

I totally agree, but are You sure You want Trubisky calling audibles????
He's playing scared....on top of He's not very good at decision making.....so He would probably check into a safe play most of the times.
Also ....You guy can believe this , or not .....in the preseason (I know it's preseason) only one Guy did audibles .....,and He did them every game.....Mason. I promise.....You can go back , and watch... I believe because He is the only one who knows the whole system......, but of course You said that didn't matter . I'm not saying He would be better......I'm just saying He actually did audible many times in the preseason.
    I personally want K. Pickett.

I think you have to be careful about assuming a quarterback isn't seeing the whole field. I remember there was a discussion on this board in which people were insisting that Pickett was just staring down one receiver and not seeing the field. Then a better, more subtle look at the film showed that it wasn't true. He was making quick reads and going through progressions. There weren't any big pump fakes like we are used to seeing from Roethlisberger.

If You will remember....I led the charge of debunking that, or at least I tried....because I seen Him look people off.
This I know... twice in the game I seen Trubisky look at the open guys , and not throw it(I have no definite clue why...scared...maybe...I don't know), and a few times, or more....from every camera angle I can get....He's not seeing them , or not even looking that way. I do know, and understand that every play has a progression that You go through, but a bunch of times....not all ....He's not going through them, and it's not because He getting the ball out of His hands quickly.

If we see a poor offensive performance this week, I hope there is a change at OC.
This is hardly the Steeler way, but I think the expectations are high for this Steeler team.

I think Mitch’s biggest problem is mental, if you think about it he has in the back of his mind that if he doesn’t call the play Canada makes that he knows if he doesn’t do it he will be yanked, I think Canada is dictating more then we think. If he calls for a pass on 3rd and 8 to go to Harris, you best throw it there.

My son was the QB for his HS football team. The coach was former NFL long snapper Mike Bartrum, played 14 years in the NFL with KC, Packers, Pats and Eagles. And I know it’s high school and all, but he had to throw to where the play was designed to be thrown. My son hated it and put up with it for 2 years and said screw this, told him to use someone else as QB.

Not a great comparison, but Canada gives me those vibes that he would be a better High School or College OC.

Of course this doesn’t excuse several of the bad throws that Mitch has made, it just seems that sometimes when you feel that pressure that someone can replace you, they the stadium is gonna start the Kenny chants. You simply try to hard and often when you try to hard you screw up.
