I hope he gets the green light but if not, the Rats will put a nail in our coffin next week. At that point it really want be a reason to get him back on the field. We have dug a nice hole and for the record....screw the Chiefs!!!!!! We didn't lose on the score board but in the long run, that was our biggest loss this year because we loss Ben in that game.

I say sit Ben if he isn't at least 75%. The rats are going to come after whoever is back there and we don't need Ben injured worse. Maybe if Charlie gets injured, the FO will finally wise up about pur backup situation. The rats would love nothing more than to end Ben's career.

The Ravens best contributor and team MVP is in the black and white stripes. No one could tell me Ray Rice picked up the first down on 4th and 29 yesterday. Shame on SD's defense. But I do think Ben will be limited all week in practice be a game time decision and then we'll throw him out there.

the oline did a pretty good job of keeping Batch clean yesterday. if Ben is at 85% is say he goes and hope the oline can protect him like they did Batch. if not and he gets hurt again, what the heck the season is over without him anyways.

This HAS to be the last year for Batch. He's done in. As for Lefty I think his days are clearly numbered if not over. I'll give him a little benefit of the doubt owing to the rib injury.

    "It's killing me to watch"

Am I looking too deep into this?

or are the higher ups not looking deep enough?

Take that comment with a grain of salt. I read it more to be that he's such a competitor that it's killing him to not be on the field.

But it works either way

Yes, it's killing all of us Ben. We are starting to eat our young on the MB. Martial law is next.

If that happens, might have to have a MB detox and stay away until draft season.

"Roethlisberger's rib has healed to the point where further damage isn't a risk."
"His return... boils down to pain-tolerance and mobility."

Neither of those statements would make me particularly inclined to put him on the field this Sunday, but hey, they don't pay me to coach.

well we all should know by now that his pain tolerance is very high and im not sure how a bad shoulder would effect his mobility. i can see the soar ribs effecting you, but im sure they would give him a shot for pain if thats what it takes.

if the ribs are not an issue anymore and he can throw the ball than he will play. if hes healthy and standing on the sidelines because the coaches dont want him to get hurt more than they are pretty much throwing in the towel. there is no way this team wins in Baltimore with Batch. 5 years ago maybe, but now he has no zip on the ball and that Raven defense will pick him apart.

they need to go 4-1 down the stretch and that 1 lose cant be next weekend. if they fall to 6-6, i cant see them digging themselves out of that hole. to much momentum going in the wrong direction with some tough games left to play after the Ravens. 10-6 probably makes the playoffs if they can beat Cincy again. i dont see the Dolphins catching them. the Jets, Chargers and Bills are all pretty much done. 4-1 is the what they need, but that 1 lose cant be against the Ravens or the Bengals.

Really? I was thinking the exact opposite. His life is not in jeopardy. What would be the benefit of having him on the sideline? We cant keep him there just to prevent him getting injured again. If he is cleared, he plays. Its the only shot we have. If he gets reinjured again, well its the same result as having Batch in the game - we dont win.

I think it's primarily the "further damage" part that makes me wary. That doesn't say to me that he's ready (pain or not-and as tough a SOB as he is, he's played some awful games when in pain), but rather that his rib just won't pop off and stab his aorta.

Though don't take any of that as me not wanting him to play if he's really ready to go. Just gun-shy from seeing him thinking he was and being wrong (49ers last year about killed me).

Can't you all see that this rib thing was a lie and it was just the shoulder thats keeping him out all this time...

Some of you worry yourself a little too much for something you have no control of:rolleyes::rolleyes:Sheesh!!!

True. The SF game comes to mind...however, at this point, that HORRIBLE performance by Ben last season still gives us a better chance to win than the sorry backups we have.

Huh? What would be the purpose of adding a "faux" rib injury to the mix if there wasnt one?

Yep, we all now know why Ben was left in that game, he's still our best option.

And agree with your post below, theres no reason to have lied about a rib injury, none.
