Man, I d rather have lost to Giants, Washington and Philly, than to Oakland, TN, and the browns. Geez I know I ve talked alot of smack at work the last few years but these guys are eating me up.

Thought one was going to cut me some slack, he goes, 'Dont be too upset about the loss yesterday'...I was like rut roh:hmmm:....'A bad bunch of brownies will get you everytime.':facepalm:

Even the sports announcers this morning were like "THE BROWNS? REALLY?"

We HAVE to beat the Cowboys....JUST HAVE TO. As much smack as I ve given the cowboy fans, I ll have to hide my face. One is even so sure of a win, he wants to make a bet on the loser wearing the winner hat. I was embarrassed to have to decline such a bet.

I work with all Steeler fans...well almost all. One guy is a Bills fan - enough said. The Browns fans on FB were RIDICULOUS last night. I have never heard so much smack talking for a 3-8 team who barely beat a team with their 3rd stringer in and 8 turnovers...

Im home sick today but i expect ot catch some hell all week about it. Funny thing is in my pick'em league I have been picking the Browns alot this year because they have played teams tough and had soem close games where their record doesn't reflect how well they have played. It does kinda give me hope that the rivalry will become a great one again very soon instead of a lopsided beat down when the Steelers are really healthy

    And yes.

For the good of mankind we have to beat the cowboys.

I'm in the worst of all possible situations. I teach in a MIDDLE School in Northeast Ohio. It has been BRUTAL today - all day long. And - what can I say? Their team played a Pee-wee league team yesterday. The only comeback I've had is to ask why their great Browns only beat the Steelers 20-14, when my team gave up 8 turnovers. I remind them that back with the Browns were good - the Steelers gave up 8 turnovers in a game to them and lost 51-0. Not only do we need to beat the Cowboys - but we need to CRUSH the Brownies in Pittsburgh.

I live in Ohio, so I work with a lot of Bengals and Browns fans (but there are still a lot of Steelers fans here). Today, fans of the Browns have almost been apologetic, and Bengals fans have just been asking "what happened?" Very little crap and smack talk, just mostly sincere confusion from those fans. I guess that it's just because not all of them realize just how bad our injury situation is. They know we have some injuries, and they know we've been having RB problems, but they just don't know how bad it is like we do.

I've found that people will only give you crap if you let them. Punch somebody and they'll shut up!

That worked for a while but has gotten old.

I usually say something along the line that I m in mourning but they wouldnt understand. Losing is a way a life to other team's fans and they are use to it. Being a steeler fan, I m not use to losing and I dont know how to accept it, I cant accept it.

Oh, I told the cowboy and skins fans, that come the 2nd week of october, I had a dedicated section in the plant for them. And I ordered new 5 gal buckets for them to sit on. Then they could sit around and talk about Riggns, emmitt and dorsett, since their season would be over for the year.

Yea, Ive talked myself into a corner and the Steelers have let me down. Now if Ben would come back on fire, we win out, and win the SB as the 6th seed again....:hmmm::herewego!:

A few titans "fans" came over to give me some grief about the loss. One said, "How'd that Charlie Batch thing work out for yall?" My reply was "About as well as that Jake Locker thing did." He gave me a smirk and stormed off.

YES DUDE! YES! I HATE going to work after losing. But I'm a habitual smack talker at all times so people LOVE to give me crap when they can. I honestly think it makes people feel better to give crap to a Steelers fan because we are such superior fans to all others. Our knowledge of the game FAR surpasses the knowledege of the common football fan which is mostly what I work with. How many other fans have such a deep knowledge of football and of a specific team. Even Mike Wilbon has said before that Steelers fans are the most knowledgable and he's a Bears fan. Today this guy said when he saw my Steelers hoodie "I can't believe you're wearing that!" and I said "HUH! I AINT NO FAIR WEATHER FAN!" I think no matter what people have to respect that about us. We can bash the Steelers all we want on here but if some outsider does it they are in for a fight! It's like the principle of I can talk about my family but you can't ya know?

Yes, I had to walk into work in my small machine shop today, and see FIVE out of about 12 employees wearing their browns jerseys/tee-shirts...
None of `em said TOO much to me.
They know better from past experience.
I was ready with my usual replies about overall record, congrats on your SECOND win in 18 games, When`s the last time you even MADE the playoffs? Who knocked you out of `em?, etc. etc. etc....
But the comment I got from two of them, actually made me laugh, because it was the same comment, from two different people, first thing they said to me...
"So, Were you at Best Buy, about 5 o`clock yesterday, buying a new t.v.???"
I told the 1st one, "No, I was too busy cleaning up my puke, from watching us turn the ball over..", The second one, I just flipped off, with a grin...
Yeah, it sucks working with Brown`s fans, here, but they know I haven`t been rubbing their noses in it, lately, so they didn`t get on me as much as I expected today.
Again, I think they know I am ready with comebacks, when they DO try to talk chit. (Been working with these guys for 18 years now...)...
But the last thing I wanted to see this morning was Clown gear... And FIVE of `em were sporting it... Gee, Do ya think they texted each other after the game???(Technically, we are supposed to wear our Cintas provided uniforms every day, but one of the advantages of working for a small family owned business, is you don`t necessarilly get "wrote up", if you violate "company policy") I had the pleasure of wearing my #7 jersey in the week that we beat Cincy, after the secretary wore her Palmer Jersey, after they swept us the year before, so, It`s all good...
At least they had the common sense not to push it much more than that...
My boss simply said... "Bet that game pissed you off pretty bad yesterday."...I sed,
"Yep, you got that right! Ya want me to keep makin` parts for you, or should I go home sick, and file a complaint about this "hostile work environment", with all these fukin Clown`s jerseys walkin around?!?"..
He just laughed and walked away...
Just a couple years ago, this game would have put me in a bad mood for the rest of the week, but, recentley, with the help of a few good friends, and my current girlfriend, I have come to realize, it really IS just a game... Played by multimillionaires, who hang out at the clubs together, after the games, and could`nt give a crap less about the fans that buy their tickets, so why let it get to you???
Hell yes, I will always root for the Steelers! They will always be my favorite team. I have the tattoo on my chest to prove it!...
But, after all, I don`t play for them, I don`t get to make the coaching/personnell choices... So, even though I have a bad habit of saying "WE" won, or lost, or "WE" kicked ass, or played like chit...
The truth is, THEY still get paid, I still gotta go 2 work, and it just ain`t healthy to get so obsessed over what these millionaires do, or don`t do, on gamedays.
So, I guess, I am turning in my "true fan" fancard...
Pretty sure, I will still obsess over the news I can get here, and all over the internet, and I will definitely still care, if they win or lose, but I gotta tone it down a notch...
    GO STEELERS!!!
(And let the diehards, crucify me for not being a "True Fan")
Either I`m getting smarter and more responsible, in my old age, or I`m just a p you ess ess y, now, as an old fart...
Kinda doubt that, tho, or it wouldn`t be so hard to resist the urge to punch my co-workers in the face this morn...
Glad I watched the game at home, because I might not have resisted the urge, at the bar, yesterday... ;)
    GO STILLERS... ALWAYS!!!

On a side note, I already have a bet like this in place, from the 1st game of the season...
Winner picks the house to have the celebration party, loser buys the beer(based on overall record at the end of the year)...
    He lives 3 hours away...
I`m thinking I`m making a road trip, if we don`t manage to beat them in Dallas...
    C`MON STEELERS!!!!:steelflag:

We've been truly blessed to be Steelers fans. Our last losing season was 2003, thanks to the US Army and world events, I didn't get to see much of it. I did get to see them Beat the Ravens early in the season. After that, well I guess I didn't miss much. But hey, we were able to draft Ben because of our record. So everything turned out fine.

Bottom line, there's nothing anybody can smack talk to take away their success.
