    1. The pass rush missed TJ Watt terribly

    2. Even without Watt though, the defense did everything you could expect from them with no support from the offense

    3. Mitch Trubiski lacks vision and makes poor decisions

    4. Runn blocking still stunk, but the pass blocking was decent

    5. Gunner's muffed punt hurt, but cam Sutton's dropped gifted int hurt more

    6. It's already time to go with Pickett

    7. George Pickens was open downfield nearly every time he was on the field

    8. Outside of Gunner's blunder, special teams was pretty good

    9. Matt Canada must go

    10. Refs sucked as usual

    Well done once again, B&GP.

I don't know how much firing Matt Canada could help Trubisky. However, like many here, I just don't think Canada has it. I don't see them using Pickett unless Mitch gets injured because I think that's one of only two ways he's going to get any playing time this season. The other being that Trubisky becomes so inept and their record is so hopeless that Tomlin puts him in to get him some reps.

I agree with most of that list, though I'm not sure the dropped interception hurt more than the muffed punt. The latter handed the Patriots a touchdown.

I think it was Blast who insisted the pass rush would disappear without Watt. I disagreed, but it was closer to his prediction. To be fair, the only reason they got no sacks is the Patriots got away with mugging Heyward and Highsmith much of the day.

Wow....Mugging on Highsmith a few times is putting it lightly.

Would holding and/or tackling him every single play fit better? Sure, the officials called a few later in the game, but it really was ridiculous just how much they got away with during that game.

I'm not buying the defensive problem is the offense

They can't get off the field on 3rd down, they still give up chunks in the run game and they do it early the do it in the middle and they do it late

The defense still has leaks with or without TJ

The run defense is better than it was last year, but I wouldn't say it is good. The way they fell apart on that last possession was particularly troubling.

Oddly enough, the lack of pass rush wasn't the killer on defense. It was guys in the secondary not making plays they should. Witherspoon was in great position and probably should have intercepted the ball that ended up being a touchdown. Of course, Sutton dropped an easy one.

I thought the D did great.

Giving up only 17 points, including a drive after a muffed punt starting in the red zone, is truly outstanding defense. Hats off to the D for another superb game.

The D has done their job throughout week 2. If they had any semblance of an offense here it would’ve been back to back W’s and handily so! Had that been the case we’d still have folks bitching bout the lack of necessity to run to thrifty’s (rite aid) to see if the BP cuff still fit out of disbelief mmmmm hmmmmm hahahahahaha

Sadly that's true, but I could laugh at them easier with the wins.

When the third defender jumped on the pile on top of Mitch and not only did the refs do nothing but his line did nothing I knew it was going to be a swallow the whistle game.

They are reacting instead of dictating. Multiple receivers so they go 2 DL and then it's power run against guys that are more cover. Go 2 WR and a run look and it's a soft zone throw to a guy sitting down in a spot Spillane can't get to.

good job B+G patrol. Please make your top 10 list a regular feature here.

I may debate a few points but excellent points for discussion.

I'm not ready for Pickett yet

I'm confused about why we aren't using the steal of the draft

i need more convincing Canada must go and that it's not poor player execution.
    just my thoughts.

The D is pretty good as well as special teams. Witherspoon messed up and the muff. Offense is so bad the defense just can’t sustain the full game. Yeah they can get gashed early too but overall the offense just can never pick up the slack when the defense cant

We need offensive linemen that can beat off defenders ...

I have to hope that we play with more emotion and passion going forward. The tape won't lie,
Is Mitch not making plays or is it the plays being called? They better figure this out quickly. Browns will be a tough out Thursday.

I am tempted to see it that way, too, but the offense they faced is terrible. More importantly, they failed miserably on the final possession of the game, allowing the Patriots to shove the ball down their throats and run out the clock.

Isn't that every game involving the Patriots? I'm not even saying it was slanted New England's way. They just let way too much go and the Steelers didn't do enough to take advantage of it.

Gotta cut the defense some slack on that last drive...... Pretty sure they were totally gassed at that point, and that's on our own offensive ineptitude

The whole game was just flat. They needed a game to see how much losing TJ would hurt and now they know. I think the defense will bounce back against the Browns. The offense.....as noted, last year we said Ben wasn't a good fit to Canada's scheme so....is Mitch not either? Or is it Canada. I think the only way to find out, is to put Kenny in the game as much as I don't want him in there yet.
