    :this!:

When the game plan of a team playing against the Steelers is to run the ball, theres a HUGE problem in Pittsburgh. And teams no longer fear the Steeler defense. They run the ball down our throat and are successful at it.

Then in a panic to show he has some control, Tomlin benches RBs for fumbling the ball. How bout benching some receivers when the drop passes or run the wrong route or dont fight for the ball.

Whose our next linebackers? Pittsburgh has ALWAYS had linebackers out the ass. At best we have average ones at the moment and none in the pipe. Theres no fire in them. Who is the spokes person on the offense? Who is the spokes person on the defense?

Granted the defense has stepped up big time the last 2 weeks. But how would they perform against the Panties or the hot broncos or the texans?

Here is the just one of the main problems. Leadership. Now yes Tomlin does provide some sort of leadership but for the most part he is cut of the Tony Dungy "zen" mode of coaching. This means he doesn't see himself as the leader of this team nor does he think he should help appoint one. He is the guide/mentor and waits for a leader to step forward. The unfortunate part of this is that while in years past they had leaders on this team after they cut Ward, Smith and Farrior they lost some of the most vocal leaders on the team, without them there is a void and without that vocal leader you are seeing break downs in team play. Now sure people will go what about Ben? Yes Ben is a great leader but he is one who says hey guys follow me I will get you there, he isn't someone who is on the sidelines saying to the Rb's "forget that one and get back out there and make a play" he isn't telling Wallace to go up and fight for a ball and getting in his face, He isn't talking to Charlie and telling him hey you can get them to bite on a fake if you do this. So that in my mind is what is lacking and until that guy steps up whoever he is Tomlin will not have a handle on how to get through to the team.

Tomlin seems to be making some questionable decisions as of late, but today was not on him.

Tomlin works in partnership with Colbert. If Tomlin made it clear to Colbert that they needed a better backup QB, Colbert would have acquired one. Now, it could very well be that Tomlin was in Colbert's ear on this and Colbert wouldn't listen, but somehow I doubt this.

Really? Really? Fire a coach that's taken his teams to 2 superbowls, made playoffs (so far) every year? For Whisenhunt? Really? AZ has an IMPRESSIVE 4-7 record and you want toreplace a SB winning coach with Ken? Really? Tomlin and the Steelers are fine, it's fantasy football that sucks.

Tomlin hasn't made the playoffs every year I don't think. Didn't we miss out in 09?

I've been saying lately that Tomlin got his coaching style from the Dungy coaching tree. I'm glad I'm not the only person that thinks so.

Well welcome aboard Jake but it's probably not a good idea to say fire Tomlin in your first few posts. This board is still somewhat friendly territory to him. LOL.

No I was honestly wondering if we did. Didn't we? I'm gonna have to go to wikipedia or some crap lol. I hate that. But just for clarification I am not on the fire Tomlin and then beat him mercilessly and then make him dig his own shallow grave then make him get on his hands and knees then shoot him execution style bandwagon. I'm just irritated with him lately is all.

LOL. I am the nitpicker of the board! At least I didn't correct your spelling. But the spirit of your post I agree with. To think Whiz would be the answer is kinda baffling to me. I mean didn't the Rooney's already go down that road and took Tomlin instead? Didn't Tomlin beat Whiz in the Super Bowl? Just sayin'.

Just messing with ya. I feel I have to be the voice of reason with my club partner so you don't sip draino or something. And yes, we didn't go to the playoffs in 2009.

2007: 10-6 1st place - Lost to Jax in wild card
2008: 12-4 1st place - Do I have to say it? SB Champs :herewego:
    2009: 9-7 3rd place - no playoffs
2010: 12-4 1st place - I'm not saying it, still too painful :shots:
    2011: 12-4 2nd place - Tebowed :frustrated:

Phew, I can see why we need to fire him with a track record like that.

I have said this for several seasons, Tomlin can tell you the problems (like we can't already see them) but he has no solutions but to sit around a microphone with his cute little sayings to make everyone feel warm in side that he will mak it all better. Time for the fans to wise up about Coach Blank Look and forget about him taking someone elses team to the SB. Cowher's influences on the Steeler's have worn off and this team is showing exactly what I thought it would, what Tomlin brings to the table, lack of emotion, this team is physicaly being whipped, no leadership, lack of good consistancy, penelties. Tomlin is nothing more than a frontman for the Steelers.

I swear people will make up anything when they are disappointed with losses. Tomlin appears to be a vocal leader on this team. Listen to the sound bites. Here you go brother.

You don't know what Tomlin does or doesn't say to players. So it's unfair to criticize him based on limited to zero knowledge of the situation. There is nothing wrong with Tomlin's coaching style.

The issues in the Cleveland game were turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. What is a coach to do when the players give the ball away 7 times?

Does ANYONE remember Chuck Noll after ugly losses? Anyone?? He said the same things. The SAME exact things. Hmmmm most would agree that he was the greatest coach in Steelers history. I know that Tomlin is no Chuck Noll, but give him a break. He said NOTHING that the greatest coach in Steelers history wouldn't have said.
