Like Tuszka? lol I like him. You don't have to. He came in for TJ last season during the Titans game I was at and sacked the QB immediately. I like his energy.

Supply and demand. If Lance continues to struggle, the Niners would be foolish to trade Garappolo. Taking Garappolo off the trade market means less competition for Mason. In such market, GMs and owners may be desperate and pay more for less.

Mac, hes a superstar, his loss changes the defense entirely. Getting bottom barrel guys won’t change that in any way.

And whoever said they should stop playing

bottom barrel guys? did i say pick up bottom barrel guys? didn't i say we wouldn't be as good without him? of course we won't but it doesn't change the fact that we should still try to bolster the spot the best we can with some vet help until he can play again. highsmith is fairly injury prone too as of late. i'd rather us have a vet guy to give us some minutes in case of a second injury that would devastate the defense more than it is already.

None of the names I am seeing are something I’d give up draft picks for.

Jones is actually pretty solid against the blitz. His production vs the blitz really hasn’t dropped from his days at Alabama

Well then you are back to bottom barrel guys. If they want to kick the tires on one of them, sure, still doesnt change what I said in that it won’t lessen the pain in anyway of losing Watt.

They brought in Malik Reed and Jamir Jones, lets see what they can do.

I agree with the concept but not the follow through. For that to be true to me you have to have Jimmy G and Mason are in the ball park

I would think you have to put Masob closer to all the other #3 Qbs than to a guy of Jimmy G quality

I would have preferred Mason on price alone

But to me it feels like the 49ers thought they had 2 steaks, then found out maybe they only had one... so now they won't sell me a steak but there is a whole shelf of mason type potato chips to choose from. It didn't make Mason a steak he is still just s bag of chips

Mason is more like a good hamburger. He is not a ribeye steak, but he is also not the stuff they find on the floor to make Hotdogs out of.

Right now they have a Practice Squad player playing QB for them. I don't know if Rush even qualifies as a Hotdog. Where is Andy Dalton?

If TJ was done for the year, I would say try to coax Ryan Kerrigan out of retirement.

We will be trying reed, who was the backup and now the starter so we need another backup. That's not too hard to understand. There are also unsigned free agent former starters that are not bottom barrel players. They wouldn't require draft picks. Not sure where you are coming up with having to need a draft pick.

You don't have to give up draft picks for an unsigned FA

Yeah, I’m sure your OP was about finding depth, lol.

I think its you that is having difficulty understanding my OP, no one they bring in is going to lessen the pain of losing Watt. Pretty simple concept.

The draft picks reference isn’t difficult either, if you want to bring in someone good it will take a trade and that will require a draft pick. Or a player for player trade but usually trades are for draft picks.

that's exactly what my OP was about. if you looked at the list of unsigned guys that i put on here, there are former starters that may be a little older but we don't need them as starters but depth. none of them would require a trade or draft pick. we freed up money for just this problem.

Dallas doesn't want to give up picks for a QB...I wonder if they would be willing to give up their no.3 OLB for Rudolph...

I don't who that is, and how good he is but, That'd seem like a win/ win for both sides
