And their backup is worst that Mason Rudolph!

I don't wish an injury to any player, until CBA allows players to have more padded practices
I am afraid the injuries will continue to happen. Players body's are not built up hard enough
to accept the punishment these bodies will receive. I am glad they have increased the size of the PS.
Most teams will need these players.

How do you start a season without a backup QB on the active roster?

To me they were just asking for problems going without a competent backup. Having you practice squad QB as your #2 is insane.

I was just going to say this..they literally learned nothing from a few years ago when Dak's leg was broken in several places.

I'm watching the CBS Sports show with Maggie Gray. They are saying that Mason Rudolph is the logical solution for the Cowboys. It was even mentioned that Jerry Jones might get on the phone and give Big Ben a call!

It would be hilarious to see Rudolph leading the cowboys offense. A lot of folks already had eagles winning the division. I'd say that makes them a lock at this point.

I had the Eagles winning this Division even with a healthy Dak Prescott. That said, while Philly's roster is stacked overall, it is put up or shut up time for Jalen Hurts. Why?!

Philly has two first round picks; one of which acquired from Philly for Chris Olave. Now granted, how well New Orleans finishes will dictate what Philly will do with that pick but, if I am Philly and Hurts still cannot get it done, I am either trading up for or selecting a QB in Round one.

Eagles will win that division but Oh how I'd love to see Cowboys get Mason and he tears up the NFC.

I found it odd when I head someone (Rex Ryan?) quoting Hackett when he was claiming that the guardian helmets could help prevent QB hand injuries (I did see Dak's was hand-to-hand)

Hackett had one ancillary benefit in mind pertaining to quarterbacks who might be stepping up into pass-rush traffic to throw the ball.

“I think it gives a little more protection to a quarterback when his hand comes forward, it’s a little bit softer than a helmet,” Hackett said.

Can you qualify the statement at all? Are there actually more injuries now than previously? If so, is it perhaps injuries are disclosed more now, instead of just popping pain pills and going back out?

Listen, I'm an old school type as well. If I was a coach, I'd want padded practices all the time. I like the violence of football. But I'm also not convinced a lack of padded practices causes injuries. A couple padded practices a week just doesn't build up the body enough to make a difference in the resilience of the body.

Not to mention the speed and strength of these guys continues to improve, and the human body can only take so much. Bigger and faster is going to result in more injuries, there's no way around it.

The insanity of media. The injury update is now 3 to 4 games. Make that trade and MR is still not ready till game 3 and that limited. By game 5 or 6 Dak might return. Your back up may suck..but can he eke out a few wins like Duck did? MR might raise the chances a bit, but not much.
