I expected a better performance from Mitch Trubisky

    Not STD, someone else.

STD wouldn’t be that kind to him.

Apparently we are not the only ones who were disappointed with Trubisky's play. The following is from Diontae Johnson's NFL fantasy feed.

    Diontae Johnson WR-PIT
    9/11, 6:05 pm

Johnson caught seven passes for 55 yards on 12 targets against Cincinnati on Sunday.

Analysis: Quarterback Mitch Trubisky was probably, somehow, even worse than expected as he completed 21-of-38 passes for 194 yards and one touchdown. As inefficient as Johnson's box score might look at a glance, it's arguably a slight miracle that he was able to catch those seven passes with such chaotic quarterback play. It's difficult to imagine Trubisky starting all year if he continues to play like this, but whoever is at quarterback for Pittsburgh will frequently throw the ball in Johnson's direction.

He was throwing off his back foot because he was constantly under pressure

That's the thing. He threw off his back foot even when he wasn't.

OMG, whomever writes the player updates for NFL fantasy really thinks poorly of Mitch Trubisky.

    Pat Freiermuth TE-PIT
    9/11, 6:37 pm

Freiermuth caught five passes for 75 yards on 10 targets against Cincinnati on Sunday.

Analysis: While the box score might not look like it at a glance, it was a borderline excellent performance by Freiermuth given the awful quarterback play he was subjected to. Freiermuth knows how to read defensive leverage and find weak spots even a bad quarterback can hit, then he plays rugged through contact to make the most of the target. It's hard to imagine him becoming a top-shelf fantasy option as long as the quarterback play is of this low quality, but Freiermuth's own abilities are increasingly difficult to question.

Me? Well I "expected" to be humped today so, other than the gutting TJ injury, I'll take the win.
Offence pretty much sucked. Should probably say "o-line" but suppose they come under offence. (unfortunately)

Minkah was outstanding along with Highsmith. Think I'll cry when Cam calls it quits.

I thought the run game designed lacked for planning on how to attack and adapt. At the very least like last year they should have accidentally had one or two drives where the blocking was good and it wasn't.

In the NFL, not throwing picks goes a long way. The one saving grace for Mitch today. Otherwise mediocre at best. I`ll cut him some slack because we have ZERO run game. One could argue he is doing the best he can considering no run support.

This is the most unsatisfying win I can remember. A huge price has been paid. Would be a miracle if we could be .500 while key players are out on injury.

The o line was bad but there were plenty of opportunities out there to create plays. He played like a deer in headlights. He did absolutely nothing to win that game today. So if that's the case let Pickett freaking learn on the job

Would take issue with "he did nothing" to contribute to the win. There was that last drive that got us in FG range for the win. Otherwise, yes we should have lost due to his inability to carry any load on offense. We should have never had the opportunity to win in overtime due to his weak offensive performance during regulation. However, don`t know all the details (did he miss open receivers, was it play calling, etc.).

I think he did all he could within his ability, and that is sad commentary.

I love your quote because I read this as "I did also." As in, just like Mitch you were also a non factor.

Just from broadcast, the all 22 may look different, but it looks like they still were saying "you can't run on even numbers."
    That is a huge problem.

And you are basing your opinion on what someone on a fantasy feed posts
