I'm pretty sure at least 1 of those was a miscommunication. I don't think he was bad at all.

I had no interest in Mitch at all

That being said, I thought he played fine.

I think Canada is just bad. It always feels like the Steelers are trying to keep everything short to bring more into the box so they can go deep.

But then just keep going short. Would all 11 in the box entice Canada to go deeper than 6 yards?

The guy we all thought was the steal of the draft had what? 4 or 5 targets and caught 1 for 3?

Mitch may not be all world, but Canada's scheme is kinda suspect. Teams have had it figured out for a long time now. When the jet sweep is your best play something is wrong. The Oline at least pass blocked well enough for something decent to happen downfield

Agree. There were instances where he had plenty of time, but no WR could or would break free from the defenders

Any reason why we didn't run 3 times, up by 6 force 2 timeout uses to have like a min for Cincy, with no timeouts, to score a TD?

    Najee injury, clock stop.
    Pass clock stop.
    Run, timeout.

Could have been a different look at the end.
I get the "play to win idea." when the D is dialed in, so it seemed, why not force the usage?

Seemed like it was set to go run, pass, run for the series.

I thought Mitch looked perfectly.......average. The O line is pretty bad!

A couple of good things to say about the offense

    1) Scored a TD in first half after not foing so in previous eight games.

    2) No turnovers

Bittersweet win though...I cant help but think if they had controlled the ball more (especially towards end of first regulation) and been able to sustain a drive Watt would not be potentially lost for the year.

How many times are we going to continue ty to see receivers run their routes short of the sticks even on less than 5 plays??

The last I checked it was a rope throw by Trubisky to Muth that set up the win by Boz.

Yea it wasn't pretty, it was gritty. Oh for those in the back, we WON!

I am more worried about TJ Watt and possibly losing him for the season.

On to the cheatriots at Acrisure.

They would have been more effective taking 3 knees and punting

I disagree. I don't want to ruin Pickett behind this line.

I saw a lot of Trubisky when he played in Chicago and this is the QB he was then. He makes plays here and there but is way too inconsistent. He was throwing off balance falling backward today much like he did in Chi. His accuracy was poor today and was similar to he days in Chi. Even many of his completions required contortions by the receivers to haul them in. If he plays like this, we'll see Pickett before the halfway point in the season. We should have blown out the Bengals with that defensive performance and yet we struggled with the multiple opportunities to win this game. If it wasn't for the injured long snapper for the Bungles, we lose that game in regulation. It would have been the first time a team overcame 5 turnovers to win in a decade.

I think they keep everything short because the offensive line allows about 0.004 seconds for a play to develop.

I would give Trubiskl a few more games and if no improvement then rethink the QB situation. But in his defense any QB needs a good line in front of him and that is another problem we have.

Give Mitch a few more games to let the Oline improve their play before putting Pickett in.

Was anyone else yelling to just knock the ball down instead of getting that last INT?

that could have been a game changer because we would have been darn near half field to run different plays.

Not sure what people thought they were getting with Trubisky. He's an average passer at best

He's exactly who he's always been. The defense just put on a masterful performance.
