I just cannot decide after watching #17 this year... Is he really trying and does he give a da$n? Is he trying to play lousy to ensure that we do not franchise him and we help drive him out of town? Is his sub-standard play due to pressure on trying to prove he is worth more than the $50 million we offered him last off season? it just seems that #17 rarely gets open and when he does get the ball he often drops it or if it is under thrown makes no effort to keep the opposing team from taking it away. Is his play mostly due to Antonio Brown not being in the game to take pressure off of him? This should be the time when he is stepping up and carrying a team with its #3 QB, lack of WRs (E. Sanders, I am not talking about you, you played great today!), plus the other playmakers not in the game.

His play as of late has frustrated me, I don't really recall what he did bad today though, but there was so much bad **** that I just might be forgetting. I don't put the helmet bop or the fact that he didn't break up a severely under thrown interception on him though.

His inconsistancy was noticed in the 2nd half of last year. He's a dime a dozen reciever and I'm glad he made an easy choice for us to not pay him 9 million (or whatever) for next year

Good points, but he needs to be that difference maker in these dire times and he seems just disinterested.

well I dont believe he is sucking it up on purpose because he does want to get paid....I just think at times hes not paying attention or giving 100 percent and that is a problem.

That I can agree with, for sure, that's fair criticism.

Well, to say the least, he's not playing like a $10 million a year receiver. I like the element he adds to an offense, but the little things that separate the average from the good receivers he hasn't shown much of this year. My hope is that he will tighten up his game and will play like the money he's asking for (though, I guess he wants even more than $10 million a year, at which point I think it'd be better to trade him, heh).

I've said it in the past, but he is our Deshean Jackson. Fortunatey, Steelers are much smarter than Philly and will let him walk this off season. He's a punk and is playing for himself and not the team

He often seems to be out of sync with whoever is QB, so, yes, I think he is not paying attention, and he is not a tough receiver, which you need to be to carry a team.

Wallace is a very good receiver, but.....he has some issues in his game. His route running isn't great. His hands aren't great. The reality is that Wallace HAS NOT looked good this year. Untimely fumbles, dropping balls on his hands, not having that NEED to catch every ball even close to him. It is insane really that we can't find a way to use him.

Wallace is not a #1 receiver and should be the focal point of any passing game. What they should do even when Brown gets back is put him in the slot where he normally excels and work him from there. Had they put Plax and Sanders on the outside with Wallace in the middle they could have forced the safeties to account for him and opened up the in the intermediate routes for Miller and the RB's as it was they simply jammed him at the line and were able to bring the safety down to play in the box on run plays. For all his speed he simply can not fight through press coverage on the outside everytime. Sanders is fast but not as fast as Wallace so he isn't the threat down the middle that Wallace is. They need to start using Wallace where he can do the most damage and has shown he is a real threat and not as the go deep decoy all teh time.

"It is insane really that" he can't use his talent to 100%.
Not trying, on the last interception..., well, I was not a happy person.
THAT is your ballgame - 'do - or - die', etc., etc.
Please, start to give a crap.

Wallace isn't a very good receiver. Wallace is an incredibly fast receiver, but very good implies a high level of talent which he does not have. He has speed, that's it. There's not a person on this site that can list any other quality Wallace has that stands out over other journeymen WR's in the league. Like you said, he doesn't have good hands, he doesn't run good routes, he's not big, he's not strong, he can't go up and get the ball at its highest point, he can't fight for extra yards, etc. That's an awful lot of cant's when talking about giving a player big money or a long term contract.

Wallace is incredibly fast though, I'll give him that, but speed alone doesn't get it done. What we need is a big WR like Bowe, Julio Jones, Demaryius Thomas, etc. We need a guy like that to take this offence to the next level. The Patriots are really the only high powered offence without a guy like that (although Lloyd is there), but they have 2 TE's who can stretch the field. As much as I like Heath, he can't stretch the field like Gronk can. We have 2 small, fast WR's in Brown and Sanders, we need a big possession X receiver.

I am also sick of tomlin covering for Wallace. Saying he fought for that ball. He is not scared to call rb. Call out prima donna once.

Mike Wallace will not be on this team next year. I think even if Tomlin wants him the Rooney's do not. They are not gonna get shook down by little thugs like him for $10 million per year. I would take Sanders any day of the week over him. Sanders catches what is thrown at him. Wallace does not. Sanders has been the ONLY dependable receiver we have. He had the biggest plays in the KC game and in this one. The problem is can Sanders stay healthy. I'm the leader of the SEND WALLACE PACKING CLUB so pretty much all the regulars on here know how I feel about him. All the talk of him not being able to catch and not fighting for balls and not running good routes and not getting YAC are all true and they are things that I've been saying lately too. So it's not like I'm the only one seeing things this way. I will say though that I don't think Wallace is trying to sabotage anything or whatever. I just think that Wallace is what he is and he's not gonna add anything to his game because he thinks his speed compensates for his other shortcomings. It's sorta like Ben won't hit the film room because he thinks he can make plays just scrambling and so he could very well be as good as he is ever going to be too. It's just Ben is good enough to have some weaknesses but Wallace is not.

Tomlin said that? I didn't see that. Does anyone know what fans on other boards or whatever think about Wallace? Is all the Wallace hatorade mostly served up here or also at other places?

This is what you get when you miss all of OTA's, mini-camp and training camp. He needs this structure even more when you are not a good route runner, questionable hands, and lacks toughness to come back for the ball.

I cannot think of a game this year i haven't been upset with Wallace's play. its starting to get old. Maybe he could get some slack if he was a prima donna and held out of camp. But after pulling that kinda bs he owes us his best. I like Wallace but he's not acting much like a Steeler.

Maybe Plex will talk some sense into him. Seems like he is glad to be back and despite being pretty good and winning a super bowl with the Giants, wished he never left. Or maybe Hines needs to stop into practice and rough him up a bit haha

I have to rewatch this travesty as you never really see the game there like you do at home...you see more...and less.......but as someone who was watching him closely LIVE....he had a horrible game...and his effort was lacking.....especially on plays he was not the focus on.
