Are they preparing to sign some free agent?

Could be a signing..but they were getting pretty tight in cap room. Traditionally they liked about 5 million to take care of possible IR and needed additional signings.

I thought they were 13 million in space.

I hope you are right. There was no reason to restructure Watt's contract this year unless something big is coming down the line.

    I miss Colbert.

As I said in the thread 32 million. We were under 2 million in cap room. We needed some to go into the season with.

After the trades we were under around 2 million, restructured the lb to give us around 3 million. That can go away very fast with a few injuries. While salaries ..including PS are accounted for, if someone goes on the injury list you still have to account for that salary, plus the extra expense of the player brought up. Even at vet minimum a couple of injuries eats that up very fast.

Colbert did this nearly every year. Nothing new here.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on a big signing, they're probably just creating cap space as they go into the season.

Yeah it sounds like it's not much. We might have 9.

Does make me wonder why when we had 13, why not sign a better LG, with knowing we could restructure watt.

daryl Williams played LG with panthers

eric fisher never played LG, but who knows.

They're not a omg. But they're better than the recent signings we did.
