Tomlin can't even properly release a depth chart. Disaster brewing.

I was onboard with the Mason versus Trubisky and was rooting for Mason. However, drafting Pickett we know he is the future. The depth chart is not so much a mark against Mason as it is to let Trubisky know he should be looking over his shoulder. Trubisky is going to be on a short leash.

The scenarios that we will see Pickett:
    1. If Trubisky struggles early, we will see Pickett in the first few weeks
    2. If we have a big lead, we will see Pickett early in the fourth
    3. If we are losing badly, we will see Pickett early again
Basically, all roads lead to Pickett and we will see the future earlier than later. If we see Pickett come in and do well in relief in any scenario, the chants for Pickett will only grow and be deafening.

This. Plus, the elephant in the room is the OL but seems more people are concerned with the order in which the QBs to go on IR. Let's hope not. I don't know if it was a clerical error or pressure from the media/fans. I guess the time between publishing the depth chart and the public recognition that it was an error may give an indication of what it really was. Either way, it is not a good look to be either incompetent or highly prone to outside forces. Nonetheless, it is what it is and so I'll back what the coaches put out there and when the games start coming and going, we'll see if the fans are happy with what they were begging for. Personally, at this point, I don't give a damn how or who we win with as long as we win. JMO>

Do they not have someone that proofs what they put out to the world that is fairly significant?

Ironically, is it possible that many on this board do a better job of proofing and critiquing other posters post's than that of a professional football franchise's administrative/ media department releasing of highly anticipated information?

When I worked for a newspaper creating ads they had a proof reading department, it doesnt circulate through every one in the department, one person takes it, looks it over and puts it through. The sales person also may have took a look at it after that, not sure, it was 30 years ago so its a little fuzzy but not a lot of people looked it over. Mistakes still slipped through.

Let me ask people this. Can we all agree that the QB’s were aware of the pecking order before that depth chart was released? So we are to believe that because of fan backlash that they went to Rudolph and said, sorry kid, fans are upset, you’re number three now.

    Come on, man.

And don’t even try and float the idea that Rooney wasn’t in the loop prior to its release.

So this is a combination of the desperate need to attack Tomlin and undying love for Dobbs, neither of which really makes sense.

Dobbs had his chances and wasn't good enough to take advantage of them.

The claim that Roethlisberger didn't like Washington because of the connection to Rudolph is nonsensical, based entirely one one comment years ago. Washington simply couldn't get separation most of the time. He had plenty of chances and couldn't establish himself as a starter.

If quarterbacks don't pan out, they typically don't bring solid value in trade.

We do know it wasn't pressure from the media or the fans. Come on.

yes but if that person also uses terms like all intense purposes, commander and chief, supposably, mute point, yinz and acknausem chances are their proofreading skills is suspect.

We’ve been over this. I don’t hate Tomlin. He seems like a great dude. One of the best motivators of men. One of those coaches you’d run thru a wall for. The problem is he’s terrible at evaluating talent, X and Os, and questionable decision making. You can tell where he started to have more say in the drafts, we’ve had some terrible ones. He’s had 5-6 times to come up with an amazing gameplan to win a big game and failed. This isn’t a stance I want but I’m a Steelers fan first. 15 years of this mediocrity and it’s not acceptable. I’m not going to have the optimism of Glenn every year after being let down from the same mistakes year after year. Nothing is changing except crucial decision makers leaving and Tomlin getting more control. It’s a recipe for disaster.

It’s been brewing all off-season. Just wait.
